'Do Children who eat breakfast get better grades in school?'
That is my topic.... Is it easily measurable? Do you think I can find a lot of journals about this?

Re: What do u think about this for my theisis?
I dont know. I would say do some research first and see how much info you find. I recommend Questia.com. Its an online library. Im using it to write my thesis, 'An investigation into the rising rate of obesity in children.' It does cost about $20 a month but it is SO worth it!!!
What school are you in?

I'm sure you'll find a LOT of info on that... I think it can be measured the only difficult thing will be isolating the variable. Good Luck. Let us know how it goes

I think it will be difficult to verify that the correlation is just due to eating breakfast. Maybe the kids who eat breakfast have more attentive parents, or a SAHM, or come from more affluent families...How will you determine with any certainty that the correlation is due to eating alone?

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said isolating the variable. this is my concern also...

I don't think it needs to be that 'detailed' of a study. The class is called into to research.....I will ask my prof...

might want to also take into account - the types of breakfast - high sugar cereals and donuts have a big effect on children and sitting still

I was going to say the same thing...does what children eat make a difference...or is it enough to just have a full stomach.

I was also going to ask them what they ate for breakfast as well.....Everyone runs into isolating the variable problem, thats why its an intro class. i will talk with my prof today and see what she says! PS I found TONS of info on it....

If it's a very simple intro class, you can just make a generic 'Is there a correlation between eating breakfast and students' grades?' That would never be approved for a doctoral level study without isolating many other variables, but might be enough for you.
The best way to replicate would be to give students the same level tests, one after eating a healthy breakfast, one after Krispy Kreme, and one after no breakfast at all. That way you know that it is the same population.

I would do some research first. I want to wish you a lot of good luck writitng it, I did my Masters thesis and it was so annoying. My topic was in healthcare on HMO's.
