what do u think... Im a little peeeeved

Original post by june262004

The lady that set Mike and I up was just online and I was talking to her. I told her that we picked our place and the date. Because she didnt come to our e-party because of some surprise party. mind you Her husband has known mike since he was 5 and she has known me since before i was even born. thats how we got hooked up. When I tell her the date she says well as long as thats not a dance recital day. I was a little ticked. Mike cant stand them any more because they like never EVER call or want to be bothered and even said he doesnt think they shold be invited to the wedding I just laughed and said they have to be invited they have known one of us forever. plus they set us up. I was even planning on doing something really nice for them either at the reception or ceremony. Am I just being an idiot or would anyone else be a little upset?

I think you definitely have a right to feel upset. I understand her child is the most important thing in her life, but she is going to have a lot of notice of the date of your wedding, and plenty of time to plan for it. It's not like you're going to spring it on her the week before. In my opinion, if she was a true, close friend, she would make other arrangements for her child that day. She could always have another relative/relatives take her to the recital. You only get married once. Children have recitals all the time.

Just my 2 cents.

i think you should invite them, but skip the special honor.

I would invite them & definatly honor them There will always be difficult people involved in wedding planning but everyone has their reasons dont forget what they mean or meant to you & fh

You have every right to be upset, you have every right to feel the way you do. Invite them and let them decide what event they should attend.
