What do we all think of the new request?

Hey Everyone!

I like to start discussions once in a while and wanted to know what you all thought of Ron's recent post regarding fake brides, etc.

It's on the BHB board titled 'Please all read now!'

Hi, I just read it and thought it was good as this happened to me on one of my first posts as a newbie. I was watching the boards and was initmidated at posting at first and then when I did some of the girls thought I was a and I had no idea what that meant. I kept talking like nothing was wrong and then a couple of the girls got really nasty. I was so p*ssed that I did not sign onto the website for a while.

Now I see on the other side that we B2Be don't want vendors coming in here but I just feel like what Ron plans to do is better so no one gets offened.

You just never know who to trust anymore. Girls come on here to get advice and vendors try to get thesemlves known. Bottom line- Both can be mistaken. I say let the big kahoonas deal with the and us girls should just ignore the fakies and conitue to be supportive of each other

I agree that we should proceed with caution and not make a new bride feel unwelcome.

But I also feel if they are going to pull threads without letting us know - then we should warn brides who are responding to a fake bride who is wasting their time or a vendor posing as a bride..

I agree. I would appreciate someone telling me they thought I was responding to a fake bride. But I know that sometimes in the attempt to protect our other brides we have to be careful not to jump to conclusions and be nasty. I understand why they want us to do this, I just am unsure of if I agree.

Thanks for posting this Nina I'd really like to see how other people feel about it.

maybe it's just me and I haven't been on long enough to spot a faker.. but I can never tell if someone is faking or not.. I have to put my glasses on!!!

i agree with you girls....im always cautious.....i guess some brides got their feelings hurt and i understand that end.....but like you guys said we should be made aware of things like that

Taking an odd spin on this one, this is going to sound strange.. but , as we've said, its totally obvious when a new 'bride' with one post posts a vendor rave.

Am I the only one that wonders why vendors aren't smarter? Why not get a post count up somehow and then post raves... its so much more believable!!

Clearly I dont WANT to be deceived, I just dont get how lazy and dumb they can be to not even make an effort to look 'real'

I was thinking the same thing today!

Why don't they build up some posts on NWR, introduce themselves...

but at least we realize them!

Also - another group of fake brides will just sign on and ask stupid questions - like can I have elephants at my reception hall... they just think they are funny, people respond and then the thread gets pulled...

good idea nina!!

I usually keep my thoughts to myself when I think there is a around. Ok well once I just couldn't help myself.

sometimes i think they are just people who are so new to forums that maybe they don't know better.

But you never can be sure...

THis is the 4th time I am typind this!

I agree that we should let Ron deal with it

BUT at the same time-when we post about loving a vendor we usually post seomthing to the effect of 'I met with ........today, I love his vision and he knew what I wanted and theprice was great' we dont usually post ' ...... is wonderful and they did my sisters and my uncles and my dogs wedding and everything was perfect and I am using them'

We all go and meet with vendors b/c naturally we all have different experiences with all of them...and I understand that B2Bs come on the boards at different times during the wedding process. I myself took it easy and slowed myself into the process of posting b/c it was strange to me not to know anyone and spit out my life story on every board on here.

I am definitely one who has used the icon! Sorry if it was a real bride! and any of you ladies!
