I've been so caught up with the wedding planning for the last year that I am a little bit scared about what I will do with myself after it is all over. We don't plan on having children for years yet, so I guess I will focus on buying a house or condo. I'm afraid that my life will be boring What are your plans for after the wedding?

Working on our house, finishing the master bedroom, painting it, doing the things we want to do to it, buying furniture, moving the furniture in, moving my stuff in. Then I am looking forward to life being back to normal for a little while.

Since we own a house we will be focusing more on that....like painting, replacing sheetrock, expanding the kitchen into the garage and FH promised me a linen closet and a walk-in closet...lolol. But we have been living together for almost 3 years and I don't think our everyday lives will change. I know that FH wants to focus on having a baby ASAP...so that will be in the works too!

I kind of felt the same way and worried about the same thing. For us, we're not having babies for at least a few years and we're stuck in our lease for another year (so we can't even think about buying yet, although we're planning on just buying the condo we rent now). But I'm in the midst of switching career directions. So going back to school while still dragging through my career in Finance has been keeping me pretty occupied. Not to mention, now's the time I get to focus on making our place look like a home and not a wedding factory with boxes all over LOL.
And in the meantime I just want to enjoy being married, spending time with my husband, traveling, learning new things, and settling into life as newlyweds.

the lease on our apt. is up in april 2010....so it's our goal to find a house before then...we'll start looking right after the wedding.....then, baby trying! not getting any younger here!

FH and I are in contract for a house. Just waiting to hear back from the mortgage people, which is driving me crazy. I refuse to move boxes from the wedding until I know if we are staying or moving.

Settling into our new house, making babies (we're going to start trying right away), just enjoy life being back to normal without all the stress..... I can't wait!

We already own a co-op and have been in it for over a year, so not much to do there. FH does not want kids until a year after the wedding, so not THAT ... I have no idea what we'll do. I'll probably look for a new job ... and over the next year we plan to 'travel lite' - going to various, random American cities for a couple of days at a time ... it'll be nice to just relax for a bit, I guess!

Why would your life be boring?????
You will be a NW. How about you enjoy being a wife, enjoy time with your new DH.
Just because you aren't having kids right away means your life will be boring, unless you make it that way.
You can always come back on here and annoy BTB.

I cannot wait till after we are married to continue traveling since we wont have kids for at least 3 yrs. We plan on buying a house in a couple of yrs and I am going back to school in January.

Hopefully we will be able to travel and find a home and spend time doing things together, because we don't get that opportunity now. We also plan on taking Greek lessons together, and I'm going to get back in to my crocheting and probably try to hustle up some side money with a few different business venture ideas LOL. I doubt I'll be bored!

After I am married I am going to come onto LIW everyday and beg others to let me plan their weddings!! I am going to be so bored everday at work
I am goign to have to find a hobby
I am really going to enjoy the peace with FH though!! Not having to worry about paying for a wedding. We plan to travel and just hang out!!And do alot of nothing together.

You will become occupied with other things, such as your home and spending time with your husband.
Every other married girl has gone through it why would it be so different for you?
And also your life gets boring its because you LET it get boring... As a newlywed of 10.5 months I have yet to be 'bored'.

I have to say I have been married for 17 days but really had a great time on the honeymoon.. it hits you when you get back home.. I was really depressed.. so we are going to get a puppy in like a month, after we get all our furniture and the house in order!!!

I agree, I don't think life will be 'boring,' but I will definitely have a lot more free time and a lot more time and energy to devote elsewhere. Not sure that is what pp meant, but I know I will miss planning the wedding ... even if the goal is to be married to FH. It's been a lot of fun to plan the wedding, you know?
