Do we need our birth certificates? I'm a little nervous because the post office said they needed our orignal birth certificates to apply for the passport. They said they'd come back in time, but I'm still nervous. TIA!

It varies by the Town you are going to... For most towns you do need the original birth certificate. However, for the Town of Babylon, if you are over 21 you only need your passport and drivers license. HTH!

Yes, you need the original birth certificate...Your passport should be back in 6 weeks!
I am going w/FH today to file for his passport, so I will be in the same boat as you...As long as you have your marriage license 24 hours prior to the wedding, you are ok!

In NYC, you don't need a birth certificate unless you look under 18. A driver's license is sufficient for NYC.

We just got ours last Friday - we needed our original birth certificate and passport or drivers license at the Town of Hempstead.
