What do we think of kiddie tables?

The 'kids' would be ages: 10 qand under...And maybe a few teens and 'tweens...

As opposed to what - putting them with their parents? If you have enough kids to fill a table, definitely do the kids table. At least in my family, the adults will have zero desire to sit with the kids all night.

I would be mortified being put at a kiddie table if I was a teen. Other than that...depends on how well the kids can behave. You might want to hire a babysitter (or pay the teens to watch the younger ones) so that the parents can enjoy themselves for a bit.

I am doing this with about the same age group. They will all be girls though. Their table will be in the center so as to be under a bunch of watchful eyes! The girls themselves are very much looking forward to having 'their own' table

If you put them between two adult tables ir should be fine.

I have always ahted kiddie tables. I always wanted to sit with my mom! if the kids are all cousins or something and know each other and regularly spend time together, then fine, but if the kids don't know each other, it can be a really terrifying experience.

I think I'd need to hear more specific ages before I give an opinion on that.

No No NO! The kids behave better when they are with their parents. With other kids they get out of control, as I have seen time and time again.

I think younger children should sit with their parents and I agree with the person that said they would hate to sit at a 'kiddie' table as a tween/teen.

I think this depends on what kids you're talking about. I'm having a kids table for my nieces and nephews, ages 7-10 + one 14 year old. They know that if they misbehave, they're dead. So, I know they won't. But that may be a 'raising your kid' thing - my family doesn't tolerate misbehavior.

ok.
specific ages...
bridal party--fiances family...neice age 6...her cousins:
boy-age 10, his sister age 13,
(their little brother not in the BP is questionable about being at the kiddie table b/c he's a mommy's boy and he's 6)
their older cousins both girls (sisters) 17 and 14...

my family--bridal party...girl age 10...her little brother (also questionable) age 6...my cousin on my fahter side age 7...and not in the BP my female cousin age 13.

Age range is too wide, ESPECIALLY with a 14 and 17 year old. 6-10 would be one thing, but the 14 and 17 year olds really don't belong there.

That's far from the case. You can have the most well behave children, but adding other kids to the mix...well, like I said, I've seen it go awry more than once. Kids get excited with other kids around and so there is more of a propensity to misbehave. But anyway...

You're sitting a 14 year old with 7-10 year olds? That teen is a bit old for the kids table. Like others said, if you were 14, would you want to sit with younger kids? But that's JMO omn this issue.

Yes, I am. He'll actually just turn 14 the day after the wedding. These are his brothers and sisters as well as his first cousins - this isn't anything new.
