I've never been to an engagement party but FH and I want to have one... is it the kind of thing where you just plan like... for a regular party? Or are there certain activities to keep in mind? Also, if you invite someone to your engagment party do you have to invitie them to the wedding?
We just had a regular party and my father and husband (fh then) gave a speech. It was really lo key. Everyone invited to the eparty was invited to the wedding.
Basically at mine we just ate and enjoyed each other's company, and took A LOT of pictures.
We had an engagement barbecue. Everyone just hung out and ate good fod. It was really nice and relaxed.
We had a regular party. Our families had met before so it wasn't for everyone to get to know each other. We had a DJ and a lot of fun.

we had our eparty at an italian restaurant.. the immediate families had met before but this way everyone got to meet eachother... we opened our presents at the party instead of bringing them home, and during cake i made a game that was called 'how much do you know about...' and it had questions for everyone to answer about me and fh.. whoever won got to take the cp's even though everyone ended up taking them anyway! everyone thought the game was a lot of fun and a great idea!
generally low key regular party. If you invite them to the engagement party, yes you normally would invite them to the wedding, unless you talk to the person first and explain how you'd love to have them at your wedding, but you can only invited xx people so you'd like for them to still share with you and come to the engagement party.
