But, I like that potpourri idea...

well, not sure if this website is useful for past weddings..but
keepsake (i think they are a vendor here)
has a service as soon as weddings is over, you mail them bouquet.. they preserve some how...then they put it in a case or whatever you want.. and they send it back..takes a few months to come back... it looks like they day you used it!!!

my sister did this and highly recommended to do it... she didn't send the flowers right away though (3-4 days i think) and they started to die out. but it still looked great

edit
not sure if my sister used this exact vendor but if you want more info..i'll ask

Hellerandreid.com is another company that preserves you flowers. It looks beautiful but very very expensive. I think the very basic is like $150 going all the way to $800.
I know this is a little to late to help you but we actually put my sister flowers in a vase and it looks like very pretty dried roses the only thing is someone mentioned that they do eventually get either bugs or worms in them so you may have to spray them with something. I would call either Hicks nursery or Franks and ask if there is something to preserve them a little better.

well, i think these flowers or from last year from Valentines day.. we hung em so they can drive out..we weren't sure what to do, so we put em back in a vase.

The flowers and stuff around it are all hard and crisp..we don't touch it so nothing happens. still looks nice

I think once they are dry, if you try to press them, they'll crumble. You have to press them when they still are a little bit pliable....(i said 'pliable' lol)
I think you spray them with some kind of varnish thingy they sell at Michaels'. Otherwise, definitely the shadow box thing...that would be nice....

i cant get my pic small enough to fit the size for posting... (if you want i email you but it looks the same as yours probally)

we didn't apply anything to the roses..just dried them and put em back in a vase.. i think it gives it an old fashioned look to it
