What Do You Do With Shower Gifts Received Before The Shower?

So ... my shower is not a surprise .... and its this weekend.

I have received a few gifts already, from people who aren't able to attend.

Are we supposed to bring their gifts with us to the shower?????

I left the gifts I received before my shower at home......sometimes people bring them to the shower, but honestly I think its a pain to lug it there and then back home again....but I guess it depends how big it is. have a great time at your shower Jess!!! I guess I'll see your post on Sunday when I'm back from Ireland!

My shower wasn't a surprise either, but people sent the gifts to my mom. She brought them all to the shower and I opened them there.

I would leave them at home. I would hate to have to carry them there and then back home again.

Open them and find a spot for them...You'll get sooo much more stuff!!!

my mom told me to open them since she doesnt want to lug them all to the shower. I can see her point.

In my case, they were sent to my mom to be given to me at the shower. That's why.

I didn't bring the gifts I received before the shower from the people that could not attend.

If you would like, you could mention the gifts and who they are from when you are opening your gifts (I intended to do this but forgot ).

The only people that sent me gifts before the shower were my aunt and cousin, both from California. I told them that I'd open them at the shower since I know they would have liked to be there. The gifts from the shower weren't coming back to my house anyway (FH took them home b/c I had no space), although they were kinda big. But it was nice to open those gifts along with the others at the shower.

Thanks ladies ..... I guess I probably won't bring the gifts with me.

I just don't want to insult anyone by not bringing them to the shower to open there ... ... ...

I would bring them if the people that sent them will be there... they will want to see you open their gifts.

otherwise, i would leave them at home and open them whenever you want!

That's the thing .... they're all gifts from people who can't make it (which is so super wonderful and generous of them to send in the first place since they won't be there)

My mom MADE me bring them with us to the shower! But honestly, if they aren't going to be there, I wouldn't worry about bringing them. Just send the people a thank you card.

i just got one the other day - i have no clue when my shower is but my mom would not let me open it! she says she will bring it to the shower (which seems like a big pain to me) if it was up to me, i would open it now
