I sent an invitation to my cousin/ MOH who is single and not dating anyone and I was expecting 1.Instead I get the rsvp for 2. Do I tell her no only 1 or do I let her bring whoever it is she thinks is coming with her? What would you guys do?

My MOH actually did that. I recently got her RSVP back and she put 2. Shes not dating anyone- she's bringing a friend of the family's. I cant say anything to her b/c she is my FH's Sis UGHHH!...But It woulnt hurt me to have 1 extra person- I just wish she would have askeed me first - I really dont like ther person she is bringing!

At least you know who she's bringing but you're right one more person won't hurt.

I agree w/the above -e specially since she's your MOH.

Just curious to know how exactly she responded with 2?

She just put her name and the #2 since she doesn't know who she's bringing yet.

oohh.....i would just leave well enough alone and let her bring someone. she obviously did it as a 'dig' back at you or something.

if you confronted her - what would you say to her? how do you think she would respond? are all your other BP members bringing guests??

I really hated going to weddings by myself, so I would either not go or go with a date...I think you should be ok with her bringing somebody to keep her company....

No matter who it is, for me I'd probably let it go. No one likes to go to weddings alone. Since it's your MOH and she's obviously a close friend and she's putting a lot of time, effort and money into being in your wedding, I'd completely let it go and not give it a second thought. Vent on LIW and then just let it go. One extra person stinks, but it's a small price to pay to make someone so important to you feel comfortable.

Also, she probably wasn't trying to be rude, people just come from different cultures in theri families. I know my view on the guest lust if very different from some otehr people, because in family we invite EVERYONE with guest. It's just what everyone in my family does, so maybe she's just used to it, and is assuming she was invited with a guest

I would let her get away with because she is the MOH, even though giving you a heads up or asking first would have been nice. As for others that are invited without a guest and sneakily put it on their response - OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

Let's forget for a second that this is your MOH - did you write 'and Guest' on the envelope? If not, for her to assume she can bring someone is wrong, BUT I am a firm believer in inviting everyone in your BP with a guest (actually I'm a firm believer in inviting anyone over 21 with a guest, but that's just me) so I would let it go.

agreed-

since shes your MOH, i would just let her bring a date... although i'm not sure why she would want to bring a random date with her, because she'll be busy all day with pics and BP stuff.... but, whatever....
people are so ballsy though- we had this happen where my moms friend who is single and who i'm not really close to, sent her RSVP back as ' 2' when her name was the only one on the invite... its not so much that she wanted to bring somebody, its that she didn't have the courtesy to CALL AND ASK first before just surprising me AND my mom and sending back the RSVP for 2 people... craziness....
but when it comes down to it, if one extra person isn't gonna make or break the budget, its better to just let it go and avoid an argument- especially in your case where shes close enough to be your MOH

I def agree that you should let her bring a guest. She IS your MOH.

I have already had 2 people who I was not planning on inviting with a guest, tell me they are bringing a guest. They had just assumed (as I probably would have) that they were being invited with a guest.

What can you do? You let her RSVP with a guest and hope she doesn't show with one.

Is she dating anyone? Could you ask her who she is planning on bringing?

I would just gently bring it up to her who she planned on bringing. Maybe you can tell her your concern and she might understand but don't argue it! It's not worth it with your MOH.

We had this issue so the bridal party gets an & Guest but they were told in advance that we would prefer those single to not bring someone! I hate strangers at weddings and in all the pictures! I explained to them my thoughts so MOH is bringing her best friend who I am close enough with that I'm excited she's bringing a +1

For our regular guests we told them in advance they would not be getting a & Guest due to space and budget. If they insisted we just woulnd't be able to invite them and they were more than happy to comply!
