what do you girls think?

what do you girls think?

I called the Mansion on Friday night & set an apointment for last sunday to meet w/ someone to discuss, blocking rooms and having weekend wedding events there, as well as pics on the wedding day. TThe Bm I spoke to said this can all be done. On Sunday my FMIL was held up at another app, so I called to postpone, I went to the receptionist after I left her a vm to leave another message at 12:30ish...

At 3:00 I called again & left another message... After not hearing anything I sent her an e-mail (to the acct, she e-mailed me my quote from) and I still havn't heard from her. I left another message at 12:30 today.

Ok I'm not calling or e-mailing again, but I really want this mansion, however, I'm concerned w/ how this BM is not getting back to me, should I give her tuil the end of the week & then call again? Or should I look elsewhere? What would you do?

I would try and give them another call. Do you know if maybe there closed mondays, maybe thats why they didn't get back to you. But I would wait and see and maybe call them by thursday.

Re: what do you girls think?

I just got an e-mail from her She will be out of the office from 12-23- 1-9-07.....

Also there is a difference in the rooms charge from $99 per room per night it's actually $199 per room per night, is this a good price? I don't want to expect our OOTG to spend mega bucks for a hotel, so if they came for the weekend it'll be $400 for hotel! sounhds like a lot to ask of people... waht do you girls think?

I'm asking my guests to spend the same amount. I think anywhere between $100-$200 is pretty standard. $200 is high, sure, but it's Long Island. To be fair to everyone, though, why don't you look into somewhere cheaper and offer options to your guests? For all the weddings I've been to as an OOT guest, the bride has sent a list of at least 3 or 4 hotels of different price ranges. If someone can't afford $199 a night, they're just going to stay somewhere else anyway, and this way, you've done the legwork for them.

You definitely should research a cheaper hotel to give your OOTG options. I personally think that $400 is a little steep, considering they have to still give a gift.
