sometimes if you send envelopes through printers they get stuck and destroyed

i did use clear labels on our envelopes (the much larger size)

they looked awesome
no one seemed to know or care (rememeber those envlopes just get tossed)

we even started a trend becasue the next 5 wedding invites we got they did that and our friends told us they got the idea from us

I used clear labels on ours w/ red ink and a calligraphy font and they looked fine I got a ton of compliments on the invites itself!! No one cared about the envelopes!..I tried handwriting some out and it came out so messy. If you're willing to spend the extra on calligraphy then go for it. Otherwise I really think labels are fine and it doesnt make the invite look bad at all. I received invites that were run thru printers and I didnt like how that looked.

Its really a matter of personal taste. Do whatever you think looks nice and is easier for you. Dont worry about anyone else for a detail like this.

I think it really depends on the message you'd like to convey about your wedding. I think Calligraphy (either by hand or via the computer) is elegant. And it doesn't cost a fortune and it doesn't take all that long.

If you're not really interested in how others will preceive it, then don't worry about it and do what you want.

IMO, people will notice. I've noticed it from others. I've heard others notice it as well. I think Calligraphy is just a nice finishing touch.
