What do you guys think about a carrot wedding cake?
FH and I love carrot cake..not sure how the one at Fox Hollow will be...i am torn because not everyone eats it. What do you think??

I had a carrot wedding cake....EVERYONE LOVED IT!!! Seriously! To this day (6 mths later) I still have people telling me how great it was to have something different like the carrot cake and how it was the BEST they tasted yet!
My vote....GET IT!!!
What I did was go to Erga and picked up a carrot cake to 'test' it first...DH & I LOVED it!

Not all guests eat wedding cake period - no matter what flavor it is. I say go for it - I'm sure it's absolutely delicious!
Otherwise, the guests can nosh on the other desserts instead!

I would stick with a plain flavor because not everyone likes carrot cake. Maybe do a grooms cake that flavor

It's really up to you but I don't like it personally. I know everybody is not a fan.
Best is usually to stick to plain yellow cake.
I would also avoid coconut.
In the end, it's up to you!

Love it!!! I went to a wedding & they had it...It was such a big hit!!!
But like Christine said, not everyone eats it, so get what you want!

I am probably doing the same cake at Fox Hollow too! I would definitely do it - you're also having a dessert too, right? If someone doesn't like the carrot cake, then they'll just have to eat the dessert instead.

I also wanted to add that after all the food FH gives, no one has room for dessert!!!
We ended up taking home 3/4 of our cake & 4 trays of pastries!

I say go for it. We had a chocolate cake. Those who want cake will eat it, those that don't won't. You can't please everyone no matter which flavor you get. GO FOR IT!!!!! AND ENJOY!!!!

It's a good idea (I love carrot cake). Like was mentioned above, not everyone eats the cake. Even if you got a yellow cake with fudge filling, not everyone likes that either.
We did a carrot 1/2 sheet cake for my aunt's b-day and a regular plain yellow 1/2 sheet cake. The entire carrot cake went so you'd be surprised how many carrot cake fans there are out there.

I LOVE carrot cake and was torn about this too.
Maybe you can do a layer of carrot cake and a layer of another type too, so that way everyone is happy.

I happen to love carrot cake so I vote yes.
But I will say 9 out of 10 weddings, I am usually to full to eat the cake so it wouldnt matter to me what kind it is. So get what you want.

I tend to agree as I am NOT a fan of carrot cake and i spend the whole wedding waiting for the cake. We had some cake at one wedding (not in NY) that had a very distinctive fruit taste (like pound cake) and it was such a let down. but it really is up to you....but i do like the idea of the groom's cake being carrot cake maybe?
