what do you think???

One of my FI bestf riends ( usher obviosly) just found out he has to leave for IRAQ on July 14....for 18 months...so now he'll be missing our wedding.....
He is really upset about this whole thing and we are too....so I wanted to cheer him up so I came up with thsi idea:

I wanted to put him in a tux and take a picture of him.. Then get it blown up into a cardboard cutout and have him standing up there with the rest of the guys at the chursch...and bring him to the reception too...he was laughing so hard when i told him and was very eager to do this
YAY or NAY?

And of course in honor of Kev I will get yellow ribbons for bouts and bouqs.

NAY, I think its a great to want him at the wedding but it seems a little wierd to me. Having this huge cut out, how about mentioning him at the church, if you are having programs have a picture of him in them or having a picture of him in uniform right near your table in the reception so that he is still with you and everyone will know he is there too. I would decorate the table with yellow ribbons and a small yellow centepiece with an easel ( cant spell) saying something about how he is at war and is very special to you etc.. People will say a prayer for him too. Please dont be mad at me its jmo.

I think its bot a YAY and a NAy at the same time.

NAy if the crowd is not in total understanding of why but definitely a YAY because it really is a special way to include him literally

I like the idea, especially if the people at your wedding know the situation and have a good sense of humor. I like that idea much better than a framed picture.

I think that it's a great idea.. but maybe would hold back at having the cut out standing on the alter with you.. I'm not sure how the church would react to that.. ask them.. mentioning him in the program would be a great idea.. and maybe at the reception even have the cut out 'walk in' with one of your bm's
