Yesterday me and FH had a meeting with Patken Photographers. They gave us these quotes:
-1 photographer for the whole day -includes all candid shots also -Engagement pictures including 1 8x8 portrait and save the dates cards -Bride and groom album including 60 pictures -3 parents albums including 18 5x5 pictures in each -Thank you cards -Album of all proofs which are edited and retouched -CD of all our proofs at not additional cost -minimum of 250 pictures shot through out the day (but they said usually it's more like 300-400)
and this all costs $4250.
I'm ok with the price but i don't like the fact that they take sooo little pictures through out the day. at my brother's wedding his photographer gave them like 700 proofs. I think it's a little low - what do you guys think?
Also, do most photographers retouch and edit your proofs before you get them? I like that idea.
Thanks!

Re: What do you think?
That doesn't sound like a lot of pictures at all. I have 2 photographers for the day and they will take a min. of 1300. Granted, I know it's 2 photographers, but IMHO I feel like 250-400 even w/ one photographer is not enough.
ETA: the price seems to be high because of all the albums you're getting (those are not cheap at all no matter what company you go with). Is there a way to maybe get more pics now, have the price lowered, and then add albums later on?

Re: What do you think?
that is very weird, and havent seen a photographer give such a low minimum of pics guaranteed. Even 400-500 pics i think are low.
I would ask past patken brides how many pics they received. Personally i wouldnt go with such a low pic guarantee. I would ask them if they can guarantee about 800-1k pics. Remember that ALOT of pics are redundant, and i just cant see why they would take so little pics if they are with you all day. Honestly, just my getting ready pics and ceremony pics theres close to 400. Im sure you also want to go to a location to take pics of you and FH. Alot of brides complain that they dont have enough pics with DH, which is why alot of girls end up doing day after pics(which arent actually the day after lol) just to get more pics with DH.
if someone is going to pay that much money, then i would think you deserve more pics.

Re: What do you think?
Thanks for your input everyone. Yea, i'm impressed with everything else from them except the amount of pictures they give. I'm gonna keep looking. I'm going Wednesday to see Michael O'Neill...he's recommended by my hall (so there is probably a discount) and he's a local guy from where I grew up in Northport.
Also, I'm getting our bride and groom album because we do want one for us and then my parents definetely want an album and so do fh's parents (they are divorced so that's why there are 2).

Re: What do you think?
2 things - One, only 250 pictures!!!!! Thats really bad. I get a minimum of 800 and my price was less. Also, what type of album? Digital or Traditional? That makes a big difference.

Yea, I know. It's way too little for me and fh and so far everyone agrees. The albums will all be digital I believe. Who are you using for photo?
