Do you guys think that it makes sense to walk away if a vendor or an RH doesn't work with you at all on the price or give you any add-ons?
FH and i are arguing about this...

Our place gave us a price and it was where we wanted to be... we didn't negotiate or even try to. We just knew where we could see getting married.

If the price doesn't work for you, keep looking. We didn't negotiate with our RH but we were VERY happy with the first price they offered us and everything they gave us. They did throw in a few extras on the wedding day- like a martini bar at CH hour and wine bottles on the tables.

I think a lot of it has to do with the comfort level that you have at a place. One place made me feel like he was really trying to sell us stuff, whereas others made us feel very welcomed.
Once we had that, we started going off price. We asked right away about throw-ins.

I walked away from a venue because they didn't come down as much as I thought they could....I need to feel like I got a del though...we are booked at jt now....it's all about what you can or can't walk way from...I say negotiate everywhere can't hurt to try

Especially in this economy, if they aren't willing to even tweak their prices, I'd go elsewhere.

Depends on how important that particular vendor is. If it is a RH that you have your heart set on or a photographer whose style you love, is it worth walking away and looking for something else. Will you be able to find someone else that can meet your expectations?

like someone said - it depends on how irreplaceable the vendor is in your opinion. we walked away from a vendor b/c the price they were offering did NOT match their quality/quantity of services offered and we found an even better vendor so it may work out in the end! hth!
