Re: what do you think about....
In the end, YOU'RE the star of the day, and no one will steal the attention away from you...it'll just be diverted slightly.
You may just need 20 minutes to catch your breath or eat or go to the restroom.
And it may get your guests motivated to get up and dance some more.

I was going to tell you NO if you were against it - I myself want as much time to PARTY as possible so I can understand you not wanting to give up 20 minutes. HOWEVER, I read this post and I thought, that is a GREAT point. You may need a break! I think it's a great idea.
Are the majority of your guests going to be egyptian? If your fiance is and you and your mom are, I am guessing that a lot of family will be egyptian as well? If so, then I think it will really be appreciated and enjoyed.

Completely agree!!! I voted for you to book her. It'll be a fun element to the night as well.

The thing is I'm having speeches done, a slideshow and now this belly dancer so I feel like there will be no time for me and my fiance to just dance and participate.

Re: what do you think about....
I felt this way about my bagpipers for a minute, but then I remembered that in all the weddings I've gone too, there's always a lull when they're serving salads, or serving dinner. The DJ usually asks everyone to return to their seats as XYZ course is being served. And this usually takes at least 10 minutes. This is when my bagpipers played (they also played at the end of my ceremony), this way, it wasn't cutting into dance time as no one would have been dancing anyway. So maybe have the bellydancer perform while food is being served....
