My parents are looking to move out of Mineola, and have been looking for houses in the Centerport, Northport area....they have a lot of friends there and love it. I know nothing about these areas, so I was wondering your opinions...
By the way, if anyone wants a house in Mineola, it should be up for sale soon...I'll let you know when it is

Re: what do you think about Centerport?
I live right on the Huntington/Centerport border. It's a wonderful town that's surrounded by other great towns (Greenlawn, Northport & Huntington).
Centerport itself doesn't have a 'town center', but it does have a strong sense of community.

I live in East Northport on the Northport side and I love it here. Centerport is gorgeous and we would have loved to have bought there but it was out of our range.
Your parents will love the area - so many local things to do!!!!

centerport is really nice area and in close proximity to all (beaches, shopping, highway etc.) unlike many other towns, there really is no neighborhood in centerport to avoid.

It sounds like a nice area from what they're saying....and I have been through Northport a few times and loved it!
They've been talking about moving for a year or so now...but now they're actually looking seriously at houses.....kind of scary for me.....

Centerport is a nice area, a lot of hills....most homes I've been to don't have a lot of land and are mostly on steep hills.

Its a really lovely area - I would buy there in a second, but you don't really get alot for your money there - from what I've heard. If they see something they should grab it in a second

it depends on where the house is located.
the homes in the knollwood beach area do not have a lot of land and the neighborhoods are very hilly. the homes in the little neck area as well as the ones close to the jr. hs has a good deal of land .50+ w/ flat streets.
