My FI and I think it is a great idea but we are just unsure of what to do. We are thinking dinner and ???
Girls- I need help- any thoughts- we are running out of time. We want to do this on May 1st.
Origianlly we weren't going to do it together but we had expensive ideas- My FI wanted to go to Mohegan Sun for the weekend (rent a bus/limo, food, alcohol,hotel rooms, gambelling money...etc) I wanted to rent a limo and go into the city. Go to dinner , then see the Donkey Show, and go out to a club! But people complained on both sides that it would be very expensive and they have too many other expenses including our wedding.
So that is why we thought of asking his 5 guys, my 5 girls and their significant others to go to dinner and ????
Any thoughts for a cool place for dinner and whatever else?

If that is what you and your FH want to do then go for it! For us we prefer to do something seperate.

You could do that..but it's a different thing then, not a bach party..but if it's what you both want, go for it!

We're doing just that...we're renting a stretch Navigator and going into the city...girls get dropped off at a show and the guys can do whatever, we then hang at the club afterwards, drink a little, socialize and head back home
PROS 1. can keep eye on FH 2. no worry about dwi 3. no tolls 4. no parking garages 5. no worry of car getting towed 6. its a group thing 7. can drink as much as we want
CONS 1. Navigator only holds 14-16 people everyone else will have to meet us in NYC
THIS IS DEFINITELY THE WAY TO GO!!

Now my FI is saying that the guys might rent a charter boat for the day and go out fishing- that's fun!
And then I said well if you do that then I will get the girls together to do something- nothing costly though- my sister said that it is my decision and if people don't go or can't afford it then no big deal.
so I don;t know- still confused on the whole thing-

You could go to the spa or the beach during the day while the guys are on the boat. Then you could all meet for dinner.

I wanted to do that too. The perfect place for that would be the library cafe in farmingdale. You can rent out the top floor of the cafe. But FI quickly squashed that idea!! Oh well, I tried!!

I think the 'jack n jill' parties are great!! I went to one and everyone had a blast! The couple didn't feel like they were missing anything!

Why don't you look into renitng a house for the weekend in either the Hamptons, Jersey Shore, etc. It will be cheaper than getting hotel room and then you can both spend some time just with your own friends and then you can do stuff together. Friday night you can all party at the house, Saturday the boys can go fishing while you girls hit the beach, and then you can all go out for dinner or even have a big bbq at the house and then go out afterwards. Then since you'd be renting, you could all relax a bit on Sunday before heading home and you'd also save a lot of $$ that way.

Wow- that sounds like an awesome idea. Thanks- maybe the Jersey shore- actually my Aunt has a house there and at that time - no one is renting it. Then the guys could if they want go to Atlantic city or we all could go Or like you said we could hang on the beach. Her place is right across the street from the beach
