What do you think about having the RD the week before the wedding?
We keep going back and forth. I want it the week before so I won't be a total stressball. The only OOTer is my MOH, and I offered to pay for her plane ticket, and my FI's brither who lives in Rochester. My FI also kinda wants it the week before, but he thinks we may be putting people out requesting their presence 2 Saturday nights in a row.
Opinions please!! TIA

the night before. its just logistically convenient for people.

I think it really depends on your guests - you know them the best. We have quite a few OOT BMand groomsman and there is a chance they won't be in the night before and in that case we are just going to do the rehersal and dinner with who ever is available the night before and then just kinda fill in the others!

Is Thursday night really bad?? then its not the night before but still right before the wedding.. My church said alot of people have it on wed or thurs. night b/c the brides are too busy the night before!
I dont think a week earlier is that big of a deal. Its not like your taking up 2 whole weekends. either way you look at it its just 2 days. I think its actually more conveniant that they are a week apart. you are not the only one who will be busy the night before your wedding. It gives people time to get last min. things done.

Do it the weekend before since that is what you and your FH both seem to want. Not everyone needs to be there and you know yourself best. Do what's easiest on you.

Hmmm....thats a good question. Honestly? If there is only one out of towner, then I think you should be good to go but, you never know, the whole rehearsal dinner the night before may be something you enjoy. Like its a time to just sit back with your closest friends before the big day! Just a thought...

It's tough especially if we have OOT people that are included to our bridal party. I'm on the same boat as you. However, our church has mentioned that we could do our rehearsal the Thursday just before the wedding (which is on that Sunday). So definitely RD is that Thursday night. At least I know people are coming in that Thursday already.

We have to have it the night before.. Well, actually its going to be a pre-wedding dinner because out rehearsal will be an hour before the wedding. All of FH's family is OOT, so it would be impossible for us to have it the weekend before. Otherwise, I don't think its a bad idea. This way you get to relax the night before. That would be great for me if we could do it since our ceremony is at 12pm!!

I thought about it, but Thursday def won't work. We live in NYC and so does half of our BP. Sometimes I wish I was having my reception in the city!! Sometimes it feels like I am planning an OOT wedding!!

We had ours Tues night and the wedding was Saturday night. It worked because everyone is local. It was better for me because the night before the wedding I could just sit and relax, which is exactly what I did. If you can do it I vote for as many days before the wedding as you can.

we are definitely having ours the week before! we dont really have an OOT issue as far as RD guests go. only one OOT in the bridal party and he will be here the whole week before anyway. i will be a stressball the night before the wedding, i dont want to have to worry about the RD. if we do it the week before, we will get to let loose and enjoy ourselves, and not have to be nervous about the following day!

We have a saturday morning wedding, and will have the RH dinner 2 nights before on Thursday evening. We were going to do the week before but I have a lot of OOTrs in the BP and it would be very inconvient.

We got married Thanksgiving weekend, so we had ours the week before on a Friday. We had 2 people in the BP that were OOT, so they didn't come, but have both been in numerous weddings, so they know how to walk down the aisle.
ETA: It was soo nice for everyone not to have to rush. We all had a good time.

I think that if Thursday night isn't an option, then the weekend before is a good idea. We're doing our on Friday night since we have a lot of OOT guests and we aren't getting a 'real' rehearsal anyway because we're getting married at the hall. Hopefully, it won't be too stressful though--now you've got me worried!

We are having our 'RD' on April ninth, about 2 weeks before. Although, it's more of a bridal party dinner than anything else.

We are going back and forth about this. I am thinking I want it 2 nights before but FI wants it the week before. I only have one OOT BM, so it wouldn't be too inconvenient. I am undecided at this point, though.

it definately depends on the guest list. Since most of your guests are not OOT, I don't think its THAT important to have it the night before. That way, you can get all this over with, - maybe you can even have the rehersal than, and that way, you have the night before to relax before the wedding.

I think u should have it on Thursday...,,,I cant even imagine having it the night before..I would be a nervous wreck.....

We did it week before and it worked out great. OOT guests weren't an issue for us and people liked not feeling rushed or stressed- especially ME!
