What do you think about having the RD the week before the wedding?

We keep going back and forth. I want it the week before so I won't be a total stressball. The only OOTer is my MOH, and I offered to pay for her plane ticket, and my FI's brither who lives in Rochester. My FI also kinda wants it the week before, but he thinks we may be putting people out requesting their presence 2 Saturday nights in a row.
Opinions please!! TIA

We did our RD the week before and it worked out very well. Since it was a weekend night, it didnt require anyone to leave work early and everyone could stay out late and enjoy the food and drink we were paying for. And of course I didnt have to deal with holding another party a day or two before the wedding. I think it worked well for everyone involved.

i think the night before is not a good idea. you want to be totally refreshed that morning. most RD i've gone to are on the thursday before, that's when we are doing it

We did our's 5 days before our wedding. I did not want it so close to the wedding. I knew I would be too stressed out to have it the night before. We did have OOT guests but they were already in for the whole week so it did not matter

I'm having mine the week before. My bridesmaid from Mississippi is flying in that day to be a part of it and my brother who is in SanDiego will not be there but it's in my opinion a terrible idea to have it the night before. Mine is on Saturday and I know that next Friday night the last thing I am going to want to be doing is having a LARGE meal with drinks the day before my wedding. Sure you can not eat or drink but what's the point of having the dinner? Why deprive yourself of it?

We did it week before and it worked out great. OOT guests weren't an issue for us and people liked not feeling rushed or stressed- especially ME!

Our wedding is on Saturday at 11AM. Our RD is on Thursday at 6:30 PM. I didn't want to do it the night before- I need to just relax that night.

I had mine the Thursday the weekend before. I didn't want to deal with anything the night before the wedding and we only had one OOT who didn't make it. Plus we we able to let loose and not care about getting to bed, etc. It was such a great decision.
However, it really depends on when you want to have it and what your WP is like.

I think you have options since you don't have a lot of OOT guests. It totally depends though- 5/7 of my bm are out of state now (since I moved away from them ) so I can't do it. I am also getting really self conscious about taking up too much of other people's time (e.g., 2 wknds vs 1 wknd), but I also tend to worry way too much about crap like that. If you feel better about the week before and you know the people who are important to you can be there--go for it!

A good friend had her RD almost 2 weeks before (she got married Jan. 3, 04) so with the holidays it was a bit tight at the church. Everyone thought it was great..another excuse to party without any real consequences for the next day. As long as a majority of the Wparty doesn't have a problem with it..I don't think it is such a bad idea.
Can you not have the RD two days before as well? (which is what I am doing)...
