What do you think about Joan Lunden having another set of twins?
I just read that Joan (age 54) and her husband (in his 40s) are using the same surrogate for another set of twins! She already has 3 grown daughters and they have 15 month old twins.
IMO she's selfish and should spend her time caring for the children she already has.
Your thoughts?

Well, only because you asked, if they already have a set of healthy twins, me personally, I think maybe they could have adopted this second time.

Who cares? If she can provide lots of love and a good home why shouldn't she have more?

I don't think she is selfish just someone who wants to have kids (before she gets to old to even raise them) And can't have them on her own but can have the help of someone. If it wasn't form a surrogate mother (which lots of people do have kids a year apart) would she be selfish?

I agree. Realistically, she probably has live-in nannies to take care of the twins...At least she has the $ to provide for them--I think what is worse is people with no $ or resources to provide for their children who continue to have kids...

To me she is selfish because -
- she could have adopted this time around if she loves children so much
- I doubt she'll live to 100 so it's not fair to these children since she probably won't be around for much of their adult life.
I guess I'm also sensitive to the whole issue since I have a very close friend dealing with infertility and she doesn't have the bank account of Joan Lunden or any other celebs that can finance their baby endeavors....

Adoption is always an option for all infertile couples! I went to the prom with one of Mia Farrow's adopted kids--I think she adopted 10, all from different countries with different problems, backgrounds, etc. Honestly she didn't devote too much time to them, but their lives were much better than they would have been...
