What do you think about this

My friend is a mother of 2 ans she is addicted to LIF (Long Island Families) Anyway someone asked if people kissed their children on the lips, and she said that some people were soooo against this. I found it wierd, my mom always would kiss me on my lips when I was little, I kiss my little cousins on the lips all the time. I know it is different when you get older. But what do you guys think? I never thought anyone would think that was wierd. I guess me and my friens were wrong.

I always kissed my mom on the lips as a kid. I think I still do

But that's it, just my mom...not my dad or brother or aunts or anything!

my family doesnt do this and actually they think it is disgusting

but FH's family does this so i got used to it.

my sister freaks if we even slip and kiss her kids on the lips she thinks its so gross - so of course i do it to get her mad

one thing that i can see - is sometimes kids have a hard time figuring out 'it is okay to do that with mommy but not with the lady at the store' and so its kind of gross if your kid goes to kiss 'acquaintances' on the lips

I still kiss my mom on the lips--- maybe this is what makes children grow up weird lack of human contact from their own parents...

I've never kissed anyone I'm related to on the lips...

I come from a semi-nonaffectionate family though...we only give hugs and SOMETIMES we air kiss ...

i don't think i'm weird
but i do crave a lot of attention and affection from FH

Ah what an interesting topic...LoL I kiss my nieces on the lips (they are under the age of 2 though) but my family always kissed us on the lips until we were a certain age of course!!!!! It's not like a makeout kiss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and it's only CLOSE family members...never random people. My friend does this with her kids and i did find it interesting that they have a hard time figuring out whether or not they should kiss Fh and I on the lips....so i see where it can get confusing.

this is so funny bc i always told FH that HIS family was wierd - he will be happy to know that MY family seems to be in the minority

i got plenty of hugs and kisses though - just not on the lips

we also werent allowed to share utensils or drinks so it has more to do with germs and sickness then what is 'appropriate' ( i think )

it is a very interesting topic...well first off we have always kissed each other on the lips up until a certain age...and only family i dont even think cousins and aunts only mommy daddy and brothers and sisters haha

but i can see where it is hard...i wouldnt want my 4 yr old to kiss me on the lips and think it is ok to kiss another classmate or another day care child on the lips- since kids are affectionate and like to hug i have seen kids kiss before haha and that can be confusing to the children

but it is def a hard thing to figure out- is it right or wrong...?? i dont think it is wrong at all...

I totally think it is gross.. we just dont do that.. i've seen people do it, it doesnt bother me that they do.. but for me to do it.. i think its gross hehe

i think its one of those things that you can't change about yourself

to this day when FH's nieces kiss me on the lips - every single time i think 'ew' LOL omg that sounds horrible

I didn't mean that b/c they werent affectionate they didnt teach him love, I meant that b/c my family is so open and lovey and close he really saw what that was like b/c it wasn't like that in his family.
