What do you think my rh will do? I am nervous to call and ask

My minimum is 190. I invited 212. I already got back 12 No's.

There is no way we are going to meet our minimum. I mean we might be like 30 people under. WE have a lot of people out of state that were on our list that I am almost positive won't come.

My fh is freaking. We are paying $120 pp and having a full viennesse hour.

What do you think they will do, could they lower my minimum or lower the price pp or add in extra stuff.

I can't imagine having to spend almost $4,000 for people who are not there.

I am scared to call my rh, I don't want them to tell me too bad.

What do you think?

They might give you extra stations during cocktail hour or upgrade you on other stuff.
If they dont do anything, sorry to say but invite some 'seat fillers' so at least that money wont go to waste.

If we're under our minimum, we have to pay a little extra for the ppl that are there. So, like, $100 might be our pp fi we meet our minimum, but $110 is our price if we're under, so it wouldnt be like paying for 30 ppl at $100 a head, it would just be paying for everyone at $110 instead. I'm not sure if that even made sense.

I know its not going to be what you want to hear, but they won't drop your minimum at this point.

Some halls do give you extras to put the money towards, but not all of them will do that.

Just make the call and see what they say -- its like a band aid just rip it off!

That makes sense. My fh has like no family and I totally assumed we would have a bigger list and I fell in love with my rh. I need to just call and find out

That makes sense. You are still making up the difference just they broke it down to a per person price instead of a lump some. It sounds less scary that way.

I wouldn't freak out just yet. If they offer you a discount on vendors and/or kids, you may have to pay full-price for them (which will up your count). In addition, try to find other people to invite as fillers. You can make up some excuse like you're calling XYZ person from the C list to ask them if they received their invite because you haven't gotten their RSVP yet and you're concerned. Some brides on here have even opened up their wedding to the LIW community which I thought was sweet.

In the end, you can only do so much. They may have you pay for the minimum number of people you promised at full price and then throw in a few extra stations for you on the wedding day as a special surprise.

Don't stress too much, we invited tons of people in the last month...and it all worked out

Ok I am having a wed. wedding right now I have a lot of yes responses so i may meet my minimum but if not due to the fact that I am having a wed. wedding they will go from my total that I give when I have my final meeting with them. So I say call your hall or better yet sit down and talk to them and see what they will say.

Don't be scared. Don't forget you can put your DJ/Band and Photog toward your minimum!

Maybe they'll take something off the venetian hour?? Some halls may work with you a little. If not, try not to think of it as people you're paying for that aren't there...try to just think of it as what you are paying for your wedding...kwim. I know that's hard when you feel like you're at such a loss, but there may not be much you can do. I think they'll work with you though. Good luck.

Oh you still have some time for your response date...maybe you'll be surprised.

i think this is going to happen to us also - we HAD to guarantee 175 to get the room we wanted (they would have budged a little but would have raised the price pp so we just took the lower price pp and the 175 guarantee figuring we could always just invite more people to the wedding (we originally wanted to do 150)

i think we have about 215 on our list to invite BUT lots of them are OOT and long lost relatives (on my parents side) so im not sure how many people are actually going to come....i know that all the people who came to our eparty will be there - so thats 90 people guaranteed - i think in the end we may come in at around 150....but thats 25 lower than our minimum - we knew at the time this might happen and we are okay with it - we wanted that room and we rather be under than over - at least we know how much we owe and nothing more....but im hoping that if we really do come in 25 under that we will be able to upgrade our CH - because for us its like 3K we'd be out....to be honest i rather have 150 people and the CH upgrades but im not sure if it will work out - i try not to think about it because it makes me really nervous and gives me a stomach ache!

That happened to my FH cousin and Fox Hollow actually accommodated her by lower it by 50 people and she still had to pay for 10 people bc she didn't meet that minimum, but fox hollow packed up all the food she paid for and sent her home with it and they added a station for her. It doesn't hurt to ask.

there's very little chance they're going to lower your minimum...however, they should throw things in for you to make up for it.

Did you want an ice sculpture that you couldn't afford? It should be free....

Did you want dancing poodles? FREE...

Totally trying to make you laugh - but the end result is they should toss some stuff in there now for you - so that you are not paying for empty plates. You WILL pay for them - but you'll get things for them - if you follow....

i would just call and ask it cant hurt.
$4000 is a lot of money

did you give them that # or did they give it too you, bc our hall told us there min is 100 people no if ands or buts
