I dont think it gets that hot. They are votives... just think if you have a votive in a glass on the table, under it doesnt get hot

I wouldn't worry about the bottom getting hot, I would worry about the heat from the flame melting the sides of the cake. I say this because I have seen it happen.

I am with AM470. It looks too busy and it takes away from the beauty of the cake. That is just my opinion. What matters is if you like it.

I never thought about the heat...duh. But they look like different candles, they are clear. you think they don't give off heat? I guess not work it.

I think that is very pretty, It must look great when the candles are lit and the room is dark.
