what do you think of candles on the cake

I think they are very pretty but for the 2 or 3 minutes they will be on the cake, is it worth the effort? But then again it's not that much effort to begin with. If you are having flowers on the cake and your cake will be designed in that way then go for it.

Mind you - those pictures are probably not real cakes. If you do get it done, you might want to choose a cake that the coating on the top layer is of marzipan which is not a gooey type frosting. You know what I mean? Because any other frosting would be kinda soft and the candles would look weird on it, then. If that makes any sense.

yeah, I am second guessing it. I think just candles around the table is fine...that is my favorite too (Even without the candles I like the way it looks, each layer turned, and flowers filled in.)

However my concern is, the cake doesnt look wide enough to support the candles. Wouldnt they have weight and fall through the cake. I have seen where cake toppers have been to heavy, wouldnt the candles be in the same situation.
