What do you think of my Table Names and Explanations for the Reception Packets?

Table 1 – The Crescent Beach Club (Sweetheart Table)

The Wedding of our dreams! This November day we celebrate becoming husband and wife will live in our hearts forever. We are so happy we are able to share this beautiful day – and the gorgeous views of the Crescent Beach Club - with you!

Table 2 – Atlantic City

One of Sarah and Joe’s favorite places to go. we’ve enjoyed both the Tropicana and the Borgata (with lots of thanks to Sarah's mom!). Whether it’s celebrating New Year’s Eve – or seeing Bon Jovi – Atlantic City is one of our favorite destinations for a quick getaway. And every now and then, we hit a small jackpot or get a few good blackjack hands!

Table 3 – Disney World

We’re going to Disney World! And tomorrow’s the big day!! Sarah and her Prince are off to see Cinderella and Prince Charming in the #1 honeymoon destination on earth! This will surely be filled with fun, romance and memories that we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives! Here's to OUR 'Happily Ever After!'

Table 4 – Baltimore

Sarah and Joe spent a romantic weekend on the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, touring the aquarium, enjoying some Maryland crabcakes, and playing some games at ESPN Zone. Having a glass of wine at McCormick and Schmick’s was definitely one of the most romantic nights we’ve ever had.

Table 5 – Homespun Farm

Our favorite bed and breakfast! Located in Connecticut, not far from Mystic, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, this quaint bed and breakfast has it all… it’s even haunted! (Sarah swears she heard creaking up the steps in the middle of the night!). It really is one of our most romantic places where we’re sure to return to get cozy by the fireplace many a warm winter night to come!

Table 6 – Mohonk Mountain

Joe wanted to take Sarah here just three weeks after their first date, and the day after they exchanged “I love you’s”, to share one of his favorite places with her. While they'd love to tell you that she conquered the “Rock Scrambler”, Joe still doesn’t let Sarah live down that she wouldn’t risk the rain slicked rocks with her brand new Timberlands (which we’ve now learned are overrated!). It still was a romantic trip that ended with a romantic stroll and dinner in Woodstock, NY!

Table 7 – Blue Water Grill

Hands down… our favorite restaurant! Joe and Sarah went here around Christmas time the first year they were dating, after seeing 'Wicked' on Broadway! What a perfect night – and the Jazz Room at the Blue Water Grill will always be Sarah and Joe’s “special place”.

Table 8 – Hudson and McCoy

The night Joe got down on his knee and popped the question, surrounded by balloons and flowers, both families celebrated by going to Hudson and McCoy on the marina in Freeport, New York! What a special moment – to be able to share that moment of pure love between the two of us with our families! You couldn’t wipe the smiles off our faces!

Table 9 – Rough Cut Lodge

Our special Valentine’s Day in a Pennsylvania log cabin, where (despite the water smelling like rotten eggs!) Joe and Sarah managed to have quite a romantic weekend! The romantic weekend was complete with Sarah cooking Joe’s favorite dinners (raviolis one night and filet mignon the next), a heart shaped cake with chocolate dipped strawberries, a little bubbly – and Joe giving Sarah a “promise ring”, which symbolized his promise that an engagement ring was in her future! The promise came true a year later… and here we are today!

Table 10 – Rockefeller Center

Joe’s first Birthday present to Sarah were great tickets to go see the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular, dinner at Serendipity III and a stroll under the world most famous Christmas tree! Joe showed up with a huge white teddy bear wearing a Santa hat and took Sarah to New York City to celebrate Sarah’s favorite holiday for her birthday! How perfect!

Table 11 – Yankee Stadium

Sarah and Joe are die hard Yankee fans! Sarah even experienced her dream and worked in the Yankee broadcast booth and in the locker room from 1997 to 2000! They’ve seen a few gems together at Yankee Stadium, the most memorable being Derek Jeter’s famous catch, which Yankee fans affectionately refer to as “The Dive”, on July 1, 2004 to save two runs against the Red Sox! One thing about Yankee Stadium… at any moment is a great moment – and, thanks to the Yankees, Sarah and Joe have experienced lots of them!

Table 12 – The Main Event

Joe and Sarah meet, Take 1! After a company softball game, Sarah and Joe happened to sit next to each other at the post game festivities at the Main Event Sports Bar/Restaurant. (can you say “fate?”) Sarah apparently caught Joe’s eye! (hey… he was cute, too!). A month later, they would be back at this restaurant after “meeting” for the second time, and Joe would ask for her phone number! (and, believe it or not, this is where Joe told Sarah his “Super Grape” Joke. Somehow, that “did it” for Sarah!)

Table 13 – Margarita Grille

Sarah and Joe meet, Take II! This is the Mexican restaurant in Huntington where things really spiced up for Sarah and Joe! Joe went with his friend, Gregg, to the birthday celebration of a friend who Sarah worked with. Apparently, Joe was hoping that Sarah would be there! Lucky thing she was, because here we are today! The funny thing is that everyone thought that Sarah wasn’t interested in Joe because she had her eyes fixated on the Yankees’ playoff game the whole time they were talking! It took them heading over to the Main Event restaurant together to really get the conversation going… and Sarah’s phone number in Joe’s hand!

Table 14 – Bon Jovi Live!

One of Sarah and Joe’s favorite dates – going to see Bon Jovi! Twice at the intimate setting of the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City and a few times at the arena, Sarah and Joe enjoy rocking out to one of the greatest live bands there is! Plus, they sing one of the newlyweds’ two wedding songs: “Thank You For Loving Me!”.

Table 15 – Park Row

Sarah and Joe’s home! The “CXXXXXs” will begin their life as a married couple in the Town House they fell in love with at first sight! It has everything they could have hoped for, and they can’t wait to fill their home with lots of wonderful memories as husband and wife!

Table 16 – Houston’s

Our first date! On October 11, 2003, Joe picked Sarah up at her house, met her parents and they sat in the car trying to decide where to go. They finally decided on one of Sarah’s favorites, Houston’s. (you can’t go wrong with Houston’s!). There was a long wait, so they sat at the bar and talked over a cocktail. (A funny story… Sarah’s parents also decided to go out to dinner at Houston’s that night – not knowing that Sarah and Joe were there! They waited about 45 minutes for their table, and were starving, but when they saw Joe walk by them, they almost died! He was going to think they were following them! Rather than embarrass us, they left!). Sarah and Joe enjoyed their dinner – and then left to go see Joe’s friends play in a band. It was the first of many great dates for the lovebirds!

you want my 'honest' opinion????

here it goes... i loved most of it.

this is where it needs a little work:

you used different 'persons'. some of it is in the first person, and some is in the third person. i think it will flow better if you keep it the same throughout.

i think it would be even better if you kept a time-line with the numbers. example: you named the table where you celebrated your engagement before you named earlier dates

i'm not sure if quotation marks are the way to identify a play... i only say this because there are other quotation marks in that same sentence.

i love the idea of naming your tables and of explaining it to your guests.

that is my 'honest' opinion. (i just had to laugh)

Who asked you??? SCREW YOU!!! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU ALL!!!

(kidding)

I appreciate it. Ya know... I thought I conquered the use of 'different persons'. Can't seem to get that straight. Thank you.

I'll check out the quotation mark thing.

I'll figure out the timeline thing... it's hard because I want my mom's table, which will be Table 2 (ours is Table 1) to be Atlantic City. Then Joe's mom's table will be either Disney World or Mohonk Mountain. So I was thinking of it in terms of Table #'s... not necessarily how it will be printed in the reception packet. But you're right... once I do 'send it to print', I'll have to put the table of the day we met first, then the second time we met, then our first date (which I added after you responded.. forgot it the first time), etc. Good point! Thank you!

I love these! I wanted to do this as well, but my hall explained to me that they would still have to put there lousy table numbers out for the waiters/waitresses to know each table. That pretty much discouraged me from getting creative.

ok...it's me, brutally honest girl..

in the one about atlantic city, i have to insist you leave out the 'thanks to sarah's mom' part for 2 reasons: 1-it sounds like a snotty thing in some ways [ as in, 'not like Joe's mom supports us...' kind of thing...it comes off meanish] and 2-it makes your mom seem like she travels there alone to party...not really the image you likely want to put out there....just telling you how it hit me when i read it. otherwise, VERY CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very creative and cute...but as an outsider, i would leave off that comment about your mom in atlantic city...to keep anyone from getting the wrong idea...in any fashion!

I appreciate your HONESTY , but the real reason I put that is because my mom gives us her free rooms all the time, and it will be her table, so it is kind of an intentional nod to her. Plus, she had to give up A.C. in order to save for the wedding, and is going back the week after the wedding after a long absence! His family knows we only go there because of my mom's 'freebies'. Maybe I'll write thanks to my mom's 'comps' instead. Thank you!
