What do you think of this?

What do you think of this?

Just wondering if you think it's unprofessional and/or rude for a vendor that you used to not acknowledge a complaint you had about your wedding day?

Some background:

There were definately some issues we had with the Crest Hollow the day of our wedding. But there were two things that bothered me the most and I wrote a letter to our BM (who is somewhat of a family aquaintence too!) and we never rec'd any acknowledgement from him. There was one thing I was so looking forward to having as a keepsake of my wedding and that was our broken glass from the ceremony. Our Bridal Attendant swore up and down she packed in the box we took home with us and it wasn't there. Nor was a very sentimental item my grandmother had given us to use during the ceremony (and seeing our pictures we have come to realize that they never even put that item out during the ceremony). I called on numerous occassions only to be just mollified by our BM by saying he's having someone look for it. I don't think he ever did. It's just very upsetting to me. Especially this item from my grandmother... it's irreplaceable. Another thing was our Bridal Attendant, who AFTER we tipped her told the BM we did not. He in turn told my father this, who actually gave him alot more $$ to give to her. My guess was she wasn't happy with what we gave her and was lookign for more. We gave her just what we felt we should (and in my mind it was more than she actually did deserve).

I realize there is nothing that they can or will do, but given the fact we gave them almost $30k for our wedding, I would think an acknowledgement and an apology is the proper thing to do.

I definitely think they should acknowledge this. I had many similar things happen the day of my wedding. Our unity candle disappeared. The hall didn't serve our mini-viennese that we paid for among other things.

The sad thing is that once they have your money, some of these catering halls no longer care about treating you well. You might want to consider reporting them to the BBB.

I'm sorry you had problems as well.

Sometimes I feel like a big baby and keep telling myself to just get over it already. I have the most important thing... my husband. But at the same time, I'm finding it so hard to move on from this. Thankfully, this is one thing my DH agrees with me on.

There were other things too, that have recently come to light (loving the raw footage video that captured EVERYTHING! ) But I've let those things go.

Unfortunately this happens a lot. I complained to my florist. A friend used her 6 weeks later and messed all of her flowers up as well. She wrote several letters demanding $ back, etc. She said she would return it and no one has ever heard from her again. Unfortunatley reporting to the BBB does no good in this case. Think about it - who honestly checked all of their vendors on that site before they signed?

That Su*CKS!!!!

I would list everything that they did wrong, and what compensation you expect from them. Send it to them via certified mail, so you have proof they received it.

If that gets you no results, i'd file a complaint with the BBB. Even if you don't get any response, i *think* it shows up that there is an unresolved complaint. If i was a B2B, that would definitely turn me off, and you'd have some satisfaction that you helped steer someone away.

I am soo sorry for your unhapiness,... I would keep calling until I got some answers.. Is there a higher power in the hall you can go too??

Re: What do you think of this?

Thanks ladies, I'm glad it's not just me being overly sensitive!

I sent our BM a long letter (email, return receipt, I know he read it!) with points on everything that we were disappointed with.

After 4 weeks and no response, I sent a copy of that email, along with a cover letter to the general manager of the Crest Hollow. I sent it return receipt as well, so I will know when he gets it.

I can't really say I'm looking for any monetary compensation. Because there really is none for the items they lost (those really are priceless). I really just want an aknowledgement and apology, I hate to be ignored. I'm just a nal like that!

What bother's me the most I think is the dishonesty of the bridal attendant they assigned us that day. Who is she to say what she deserves as a tip?

Complain to BBB!

I've never heard of someone NOT getting back the glass they broke!

Re: What do you think of this?

That's horrible. The very worst is that BM story, how greedy and inappropriate of her!

I would definitely be mad about all that stuff. you paid for service and you should have gotten it!!!

I would certainly continue sending them letters, and spread the word about their lack of professionalism.

Also, i know not everyone checks BBB, but some people do. I did!

Thanks laides! Overall, I still had the most amazing day, I wasn't going to let anything spoil that! DH and I were cleaning some things out over the weekend, and I think they mixed up a bag with another wedding. We have this bag that has all these little lace bridal umbrella's and a large lace bridal umbrella. They are most definately not mine and I'm just wondering now if another bride got my glass instead. It's been 4 1/2 months since my wedding and I know I'll never see that glass.

I never thought to check BBB because my sister had gotten married there and her wedding was amazing. I pretty much knew when we got engaged that, that's where I wanted to have my wedding.

What really bother's me is the lack of response. I just sent a letter last week to the General Manager and Owner of the Crest Hollow along with the letter I sent our Banquet Manager. I sent it return receipt and just got the card back in the mail yesterday that it was received. I'm going to wait for another week to see if I get a response, then I'll start making a pest out of myself
