what do you think of this...

what do you think of this...

I'm thinking of making a small booklet where each page has a short paragraph explaining the history of something to do with weddings and putting on at each place setting at the reception. For example:
Page 1: History of Rings
Page 2: History of weddings
Page3: history of cakes
Page 4 history of bridal party, etc.

I would make it look classy and keep it short and swEet.

If you were a guest at a wedding that did this-what would you think? Do you think people would appreciate it or is it a waste of my time?

it's cute if it's not too much work. It's it's gonna take a million years I'd say save your time and energy. But you could probably incorporate them into the wedding table #s

I'd appreciate it. I have to imagine that men might not care as much as women though lol

I'd appreciate it; I think some guests would read it, and some guests wouldn't. I think it's a reall unique idea though, so I say go for it!

I think its adorable! can i suggest something though? I think people would appreciate it more if you put it out before the ceremony- not sure if youre doing church or at your RH, but people have alot of downtime before the ceremony so it might get better use there.

I'm doing something similar. We're having a page in our program dedicated to wedding traditions that will be part of our wedding. FH is Jewish and I'm catholic so it helps our guests understand eachother religion and why we choice what we choice for our ceremony. This is what we put in our programs....

Wedding Traditions

Hand Ceremony

In the hand ceremony, the officiants invite the bride and groom to view the hands of the other as a gift. As an expression that their hearts are joined together in love, they face each other and hold hands with their palms facing up.

The Chuppah

The chuppah , or bridal canopy, is perhaps the central tradition at most Jewish weddings. A chuppah symbolizes the home to be built and shared by the newlywed couple. It is also symbolic of a new husband bringing his wife into his home. By entering a chuppah, a woman declares her independence from her family.

Breaking of the Glass:

Breaking of the glass at the conclusion of the wedding is a well-known custom that can be interpreted in a variety of ways. Tradition says that the breaking of the glass warns us that love, like the glass, is fragile and must be protected.
