A GM in our wedding commented that he has been in so many weddings and is a bit sick of receiving the typical bridal party gifts, e.g. mugs, cufflinks, key chains, watches, etc.
Instead of a typical GM gift, FI thinks we should pay for their tux rental and save them some cash, which I am sure would be much appreciated by all of them.
What is your opinion of this?

I think that's a GREAT idea! I am not too keen on giving the GM the typical gift (engraved stuff) and did have a hard time picking out presents but i do think paying for their tuxes is more than generous.

we are covering the dresses for the girls, and initially were going to help out with the tuxes as well. we still may, i have to check with FH as we have a unique opportunity to buy them at a deeply discounted price...
