I think that if you turn the shadow of the text to black you maybe able to read the text better and also maybee lighten the picture up a little more so it looks like a water mark. But it is a great idea.

i would attempt to lighten the background a bit more and play around with different size/shape/color fonts...

It doesn't scream the elegance that the Bourne Mansion projects.
Maybe play around with different fonts and sizes...keep the color black...lighten up the background image - or keep the image and print the info on vellum to lay over the image. OR, print the info on card stock and scan the image on vellum to lay on top.
I like the concept, but I think the first glimpse of your wedding should be elegant.

See, the thing that I was thinking was the just about everyone who will be attending my wedding has never heard of the Bourne, let alone seen it. And I kind of wanted them to have the jaw dropping experience of seeing it for the first time in person. But I like the idea of this one. I'm torn.

I agree with keeping the image - the font you chose does not go with the impact of the mansion. Maybe Sloop or something flourish-y? The two elements are clashing in my eyes - one is a beautiful presence, very elegant and the other is kind of goofy.

What program are you using to do this? Photoshop? If so you might want to try the Dodge Tool so you can lighten up the area behind the text without loosing the rest of the picture.

I agree... No one I know has heard of it, and being a Bourne bride, I want everyone to see it for the first time as they drive up that tree lined private road, sooo nice!!

If your guests are not familar with Bourne Mansion I would 'reveal' it on the wedding day. And I agree with the others about the blue shadow & font. I think a more formal STD would be more fitting of a bourne mansion wedding.
