What do you think? (Repost from BHB Board)

I have shuttle service for my hotel.

Wedding starts at 6:30pm but we put 6pm on invitations.....

The shuttle starts at 5pm and runs for 2 hours....

Then after the wedding its starts pick-ups at RH at 11:45pm and runs for 2 hours after.

My questions is, do the times sound good to you guys? Or should I change the pick-up starting time at the RH to 11pm-1am???

TIA!!!

That depends..what time will your reception actually start??

I would say start it at 11. There are alot of people who just stay for the main event and then just leave (older people usually)...that way they wont have to sit around. HTH!

Don't change the pick up time after the RH.... I had the bus start bringing people home right after the reception ended at midnight, not a moment sooner. Having the bus to keep my audience captured was a home run. I didn't have a million people coming up and saying goodbye to me all through the last hour of the wedding, only the people that drove. I didn't have to stop as often from dancing and enjoying myself. Instead everyone on the bus just partied and because we had over 80 people on the buses the party felt like it was still going strong until the last minute. No one complained. Anyone who was in a rush to get home earlier just drove, which was only about 6 people. If they don't want to stay late they don't have to take the bus. No one is stopping them from driving.

I would start it at 11 - some people may want to leave around that time...

How far is the hotel from the RH?

The reception is about 10-15 minutes/9 miles from the hotel.

I think Im going to keep the pick-up time of 5pm at hotel and change the pick-up time from the reception to 11pm-1am. This way all the oldies can leave when they want and the partiers can stay till 12am and after. Plus, FH and I will probably have to grab stuff, and take care of last minute things, right?

Yeah I think changing the pick up time might be good. I mean I love the idea of people just staying and partying but some older folks or whatever reason might need to leave. ..

I wonder about shuttle going to the wedding though. . if folks get there ate 5:15 that means they will be waiting there for an hour and 15 minutes which seems like a lot. . does the RH even let people stay that long? I had my invite 30 min before wedding and people showed up early and it felt like a LOT of waiting around and that was an hour but I don't know. .. JMO

You are totally right.....Plus, my RH rehearses the ceremony 1/2 hour before it starts! I forgot about that!! You think I should change the pick up time to 5:30? I mean we have the shuttle service for 2 hours so then it would be 5:30-7:30 (that means the shuttle would be running for an unecessary hour, ya know?)....Id hate to waste that 1 hour that people wont need the shuttle.

Well I think the shuttle is really all about the guest comfort so using it when you don't need it prob won't help you know? Like even if you use it for a shorter time you are getting your money's worth bc it's doing it's purpose. . same thing with the return.

One other thought though is you prob have to take into account time back from the RH to hotel so maybe just set times

like Shuttle one 5:30
(15 minutes to and 15 minutes back)
Shuttle Two 6:00

and then that would really be it. . so guests would all be there by 6:10/6:15. .

If you wanted to have three then I guess you would need to have one at 5:00 but if they can all fit in two trips I would just set em at 5:30 and 6:00 and end it. .
