My FstepMIL bought her dress for the wedding today and she paid 200.00 less then my dress... Would you think its becuase she wanted to make a grand entrance??, i mean FH side of the faimly is not to fond of her but i am always nice to her i dunno what to think!!! sorry i had to vent...

I don't think that she is trying to upstage you..... maybe she is trying to look better then your fh mother.........
my mom paid a lot more for her dress than for mine..... ALOT more..... I just think of it this way she is going to look great and it will compliment you. Not to mention it is your day you are the star of the show.... and no one will pay any mind to her...... Just remember it is YOUR DAY..... don't let anyone ruin it for you. YOU will be the best dressed there.![]()

dont worry about it!! my MIL's dress was at least double the cost of my dress!
My mothers dress, after alterations was close to $1300 which is as much as MANY bridal gowns. She had it custom made. It was her choice and her money to spend just as your FstepMIL can spend her money as she wishes. Dresses that have a lot of beadwork, fancy seams or special hems will cost a lot of money. My dress did cost a lot more and I know it was only because of the quality of silk as it had few seams and nothing on it (European silk costs more than Asian silk) BUT it did not LOOK like it cost as much as it did. I would be glad that she took interest and is wanting to look nice. Just pray the dress isnt white!
u be surprised what MOB dresses...we saw 1 that was 1400 (more than my dress)
its deff. not white i was there when she bought it, she actually asked me what color i wanted her to have so i basicly told her the colors she can not have and she choose navy blue, and there are alot of beeds on it i mean it is very pretty , i just never thought there dresses could cost that much... thank everyone

I don't think she is trying to outshine the bride, if that's your question. I think since she is the groom's step-mother, she is trying to outshine the groom's mother.
