I def would, especially when doing a gown, its a lengthly process and a big job. My mom used to be a seamstress on clothes and always got tipped from her clients.

Honestly, you're not. Sure, if she goes above and beyond, that's fine, but it's not the norm at bridal stores for the seamstresses to get tipped. I've seen a few tell clients they can't accept them.

So if she goes above and beyond and you want to give her $20, that's one thing... but it's not the norm to tip the seamstress. I know several. They've all told me the same thing.

My mom is a seamstress and it is not necessary to tip her but it is appreaciated when brides do. If your dress had ALOT of work to do or if you had difficult bridal moments with her then it is always nice to show some appreciation.

Mine overcharged me by so much for my alterations that I didn't tip her anything. She wasn't that great and the cost was ridiculous for what I had done.

wow- I never thought about that!!!!!!!!! I can't believe how much $$ we spend on everything for the wedding and then are expected to tip ON TOP of that!!!! Insane!!!!!!!!!!!! But I guess, people do a lot of work to make your day great so I guess they deserve to be compensated if they go above and beyond....

I ask because there's a sign in the dressing rooms at the bridal salon that says tips are appreciated. I haven't seen any guidelines though.
