The post office doesnt put them through a machine. I believe they hand stamp them.

That's exactly what it means... when they're hand canceled they don't get the computerized barcode/stamp thing across the envelope. Also, lessens the possiblity that an irregualr sized envelope or heavy envelope will get jammed in a processing machine.

the clerk at my post office set them aside and she must have done them later because they were hand canceled.
OR sometimes after you pay the postage (stamps are on) they will give you the stamp and you can do it yourself.

something always comes up with wedding stuff and im like uhhh what is that... i have to do what? i feel like the dumb a$$ bride that has to ask ten million questions haha

It doesn't cost any more. And you should definitely have it done.
Whatever you do, don't mail the invites in the mailbox! Bring them IN to the post office.

i brought mine in to the post office so they could be mailed to ireland and when i asked for this the lady looked at me like i had 10 heads. but she set them aside so i can only hope she did as i asked. THough next time i think i will go to maybe the hicksville office rather than the bellmore one.
