FH & I are considering hiring a day of coordinator. What are their usual responsibilities leading up to the wedding and the day of the wedding?

Re: What does a DOC do
They will usually meet with you at least two weeks before the wedding. They will need copies of all your contracts from your vendors. They contact all your vendors oprior to the wedding to finalize and confirm all your arrangements. They usually prepare a detailed timeline of the wedding day. On the day of the wedding, they will usually check in all your vendors, make sure all flowers you contracted for arrive, and basically take care of the entire affair and make sure everything runs smoothly and as you have planned. If something goes wrong such as a limo not arriving, they will handle it. The good ones will always have a back up plan in place for you. Hope this helps!

Thank you! That was what I was basically thinking. The big one is for the DOC to confirm with all the vendors and make a timeline - 2 things I do not want to do! Thanks!

Re: What does a DOC do
They deal with your vendors, make sure everyting runs smoothly and deal with any last minute hiccups or problems. I used one (jodilynn from simplicity planning) and although they are not necessary, it really helped me.
