What does a DOC do?cost?

I was not going to get one and I am so glad that I did!

They take care of all of the nonsense....dealing with vendors the day of, doling out tips, etc

I think mine was like $400? I used Christine from Piece of Cake and she rocked!

Confirm vendors the week of the wedding...deal with day of problems...make sure everything runs on time...helps set up decorations...distributes tips...

I'm using Chrissi - Fairy Tale Events...love her!

We didn't use one and we had not a single issue. Everything ran perfectly smoothly. We had a ton of DIY stuff to set up and our maitre'd took care of EVERYTHING. He was amazing.

the prices vary based on packages (and how many hours you want them)
they range from $400 - $900 from what i priced out

In the end, i decided i could spend my money better in other places and i am so glad i did not waste money on a DOC. We had a maitre'd and he did an amazing job ad handled everything.

From what i was told when i contacted some of the DOC, they handle final calls with the vendors to arrange the timeline...something you can totally handle on your own. The day of the wedding the maitre'd had everything placed perfectly (my DIY projects, card box, cake servers, rose petals, programs, etc) every detail i asked for was perfect...just give your maitre'd a detailed list when you drop off your stuff and they should be able to handle it. The end of the night the maitre'd had everything packed up and on a cart ready for me to take home. we got married at the RH so we never had a rehearsal...the miatre'd handled all of it..walking down the aisle, entering the reception etc.
I asked my father to hand out the tips so that i didnt have to deal with it and he was happy to help.

IMO, there is no need to spend your money on a DOC

I am using A Mordern Day Affair with their partial day package - they provide 2 DOCs, to help make sure the timeline goes smoothly, that decor/centerpieces are set up properly, confirming vendors, and lots of other stuff. And you can contact them any time with any questions you have. I am so glad to know that there will be someone else (2 people really) there to be in charge of everything and making sure things go smoothly (and it is not nearly as expensive as I would have thought it would be).

They give you extra piece of mind. I hired A Modern Day Affair- it is really a personal opinion if you feel you need a DOC or not. I am a total control freak & freak out when things don't go the way I had planned. They are there to make sure there aren't any errors on the day of, call vendors week before to confirm everything, go to two final vendor appts with us, & a bunch of other stuff. My main reason for hiring them was that time is extremely tight for our wedding date & I just wanted to be calm on the day.

Putting it shortly they make everything run smooth. Ppl wont be running up to u if problems or questions occur unless absolutely necessary. They will be the go to ppl who take care of everything. So you can fully enjoy every moment. Most brides now plan their own weddings but day of they dont want to be wedding planner n bride. Just the bride.

Our day was very tight...not much time between church and reception, etc. It gave us piece of mind that any stressful situation would be handled by her- that people wouldn't be bugging me. It allowed me, DH, and my family to just kick back and enjoy it

I had met with ALOT of different companies and I was quoted anywhere from $350 to $1,200.
So the price really ranges.

I had one A Modern Day Affair and I am so glad I did they took care of the flowers when there was a problem, limos, bustled my 27 point bustle kept things moving all day, and managed to save my cake when it almost collapsed (my hall didnt include cake) etc. I had a wonderful maitre d but when I forgot something at my house they ran back for it. They were great.

I didn't have one and I must say everything was fine HOWEVER if I were to do it over I would definitely hire one! There were certain things she could've helped with like tips and grabbing people for photos because the photo session was definitely chaotic! I wouldn't spend too much $$$ on it though.

Everyone I looked at was between $400 and $500. As soon as I booked my DOC, I took a huge sigh of relief.

I'm using PWP. Cost $1194. I don't want to have to worry about any last minute things that I know will pop up. I want to be able to relax and enjoy our wedding day.
