What does everyone spend on Wedding Rings?

FH and I started looking- originally we were going to spend no more than $300.00 on our rings but now we're undecided if we want just plain gold bands (it has to be gold because it's a Jewish wedding- both FH and I are Jewish). I saw a few that had nice designs engraved but I'm not buying anything until 4 months prior to the wedding in March.

I did see this gold band with 6 channel set diamonds that I love but it's $700.00.. I am hoping that FH decides to surprise me with it...lol

Can anyone recommend a good jeweler (not expensive) that's on LI? So far I've found out that a good jeweler is really hard to find.

Mine was just under $2k - platinum with five diamonds - 1.25 carat total. Actually got a great deal!

He uses my fathers.

I was getting worried about how expensive things were getting and thought maybe I would get a simpler (cheaper) ring for now and get a nicer ring later. But someone I worked with said 'but don't you want the wedding ring you wear for the rest of your life to be the one you make your vows with?' End of story - went for the expensive ring.

mine is an insert w. white gold and .75 carat in diamonds around- it cost 600$

FH doesn't have his yet, but the ones he likes are about 400-500$

we havent picked FH's out yet.. but mine is $3200
I got platinum.. with 2cts of diamonds.. 7 stones in total.. prong set that go 1/2 way around. plus I wanted great quality stones so they didn't dingy next to the stones in my e-ring.
