I know its the new 'thing' and some people are accepting of it~most people are not and are old school about it.

The point of a shower is to shower the Bride with the things necessary to be a wife...etc. obviously this has changed as most have a lot of these items.

To me, a HM registry is like asking people to pay for your HM. I dont like the idea and if I was to go to a shower and this was the registry....the bride would get a picture frame. That is me tho. Im sure there are people who think differently.

ETA: Your guests arent going to tell you its tacky or they dont like it....its up to you really

I actually just suggested this idea to my cousin! I think it's a great idea. Esp for people who already live together and already have most of the things they need (kitchen stuff, bedding, etc.) Personally, I would love to chip in towards something for a HM. A nice dinner, a spa treatment, an excursion, etc. You can either buy the couple a toaster oven or a nice seaweed wrap! haha

We registered for our HM - we did a large registry at BBB but I have found that everyone I have spoken with about it has been very open. Times have changed from when you didnt live with your FH before you were married. We have almost everything that we need - we registered for 'upgrades' of what we want and our HM registry

We registered for our honeymoon. We had already bought a house, and had a bunch of new stuff, my grandma gave me her china, so we didn't need a lot. We didn't want to register for stuff we didn't need or that were weren't going to use. So since we were paying for our honeymoon ourselves, and had what we needed we registered for our honeymoon. I dont think it is tacky at all!! People loved the idea! I got a lot of gift certificates for the honeymoon accompanied with lingerie..haha!

I totally agree...plus if you have a traditonal registry at BB&B people can decide for themselves what they wanna do...if one of my friends did this Id love to buy them a spa treatment or whatever for their HM!

isn't it like registering for cash since some sites send you money (check or direct deposit into your bank account) minus a 'transaction fee' usually around 3-7% of the total.

I registered for my honeymoon and BBB. I didn't need much for my apartment we had pretty much eveyrthing just needed a few upgrades. I don't see it being tacky, to me that's the same thing as registering at BBB. You are requesting that these people provide you with these gifts for your house because there are things you need/want, so asking for gifts for the honeymoon is not any different. I say go for it you will save money and the hassle of returning things you may not need or want.

We registered at BBB and Macy's, and we are doing a Disney Honeymoon Registry. If people don't like the idea or think it's tacky, that's ok with me! They can get something off the 'normal' registry. We think it's a fun idea, and a cute one, especially since so many people in my family know what Disney nuts we are, and would want to contribute to something like that.

Personally it's not my thing, I would prefer to buy someone something more useful and permanent.

I did this kind of on my own for my bf and her hubby because I couldn't imagine just giving them a blender.. as their best friend I wanted to give them something momentus and I went to their travel agent (as the MOH I went to various appts and knew the details) and arranged for a gorgeous beach dinner for two... they loved it

We didn't have an Eparty and I dont think were going to, but we did get some liberty travel gift cards from family... I personally think its awsome especially if you are paying for your HM out of pocket and it is really important to you. That way people can have a choice whether they want to help out with your honeymoon or buy stuff from B&B... I could see people getting annoyed if you just registered for your honeymoon. But if people don't like the idea they can just ignore it

I think it's a great idea, it's called a honey-fund. My gf did this and sent a card from the travel agency she used and whoever wanted to contribute towards the honeymoon did so.......I'm def doing this...especially bc me and fh aleady live togther and have almost everything we need....
