What does it mean?

When Hr calls you and says we want you to come back for 3rd interview but the position is on HOLD for now.

Sometimes for budget reasons, companies have hiring freezes. But, they want to have the position lined up so when the freeze is over it will be filled.

The other thing is that they might be restructuring.

They told me..

They WANT you...........

But its on hold.............

Till 2-1

What a lot of companies do is they post positions (even though they may be having a hiring freeze) and do interviews. then when they feel they have found the right candidate they wait to see if there budget will open up for that individual.

Sometimes it takes 2 - 3 weeks for the person to even start (background check, drug testing, etc..) so even though there is a hiring freeze, they still know they have time to really fill the position.

its usually a budget thing, or waiting for upper mangement signature

One of my friends waited a month for a job b/c of a freeze and THEN they gave her a possible start date...ended up being 2 months in the end...2/1 isn't so bad as long as they have their acts together...

My very first job I went on like 3 interviews and blah, blah, over a month later I got the job. Apparently some of the big bosses were not available to meet me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
