I am getting married in a month and just found out by my FMIL that there will be a high school reunion going on at the same exact time as my wedding upstairs? Having my event be the only at the venue was one of my criteria in choosing a place and I thought that by them advertising one wedding at a time it meant that my wedding would be the only focus for the staff. I am so mad how do I approach the RH?

Ughh that is sneaky of them!!!! I would tell them how disappointed you are and that's why you booked them...maybe they'll throw something extra in?

That is absolutely so sneaky! and upsetting! Definitely contact them to verify the information and tell them that you are disappointed and suggest that they make this clear to future brides.

That is horrible!! I would contact your bm right away and first confirm that it is true and if so let him/ her know how extremely upset and misled u feel. That is not right at all

That's terrible! I also booked my place based on the assumption that one wedding at a time meant one event. That was the top priority on my list. I would definitely contact the venue! Good luck!

Totally agree with the girls! I'd contact the venue. My sister used to work for a hall that claimed they did only 2 weddings at a time but really did 4! I didn't care about how many events were going on at a time until I found my hall. They only have 1 room and when I realized that my event would be the center of the venue, I liked the idea of 1 wedding at a time.
Even if another event is going on, its still your day and your guests will be paying attention to you!

Just to let you know, Thatched Cottage stressed to us that it is one WEDDING at a time, not necessarily one EVENT at a time. It IS possible that there could be a smaller party (Anniversary party, etc.) going on in the chapel room and/or cocktail hour room, depending on your wedding time. I was also very concerned with one wedding/event at a time, but was told this after we signed the contract, when I double checked that there wouldn't be any other weddings that night.

Re: What does one wedding at a time mean???
There is only one main room to hold a wedding so it is obviously only one wedding at a time, but never once was there a mention that the small room upstairs (which used to be a restaurant) would be utilized in any way, as a matter of fact when I went to visit I was bought up there b/c it has a nice view and a balcony to take pictures on ( I guess that is not happening anymore) Also this reunion starts at 7pm the same time as my cocktail hour and guests for both events will be arriving at the same time and the guests from the other event will use a staircase that is right on the patio where my cocktail hour is being held. Just got back from the RH and was basically told it's not a big deal and I have nothing to worry about. I expressed how unhappy I am that I was led to believe something else and that they should make this clear to future brides. I can't even imagine what my reaction would have been if I didn't find this out now and instead on my wedding day.

Its a shame that they mislead you like that. Sand Castle told us they are a 1 event at a time facility and warned us that places try to leave that out by saying 1 Wedding but I never really thought about it. You can never trust anyone have to ask a million questions and get everything in writing.

is there anything in your contract that says its one wedding at a time, if so its a break in contract. read all the fine print. then make sure its true and call and get as much outta them as you can
