WHAT DOES SEMI-FORMAL ATTIRE MEAN???

My cousin is getting married and the reception is at Irish Times Pub in Holbrook.

Semi-Formal Attire?? Some of you know that place, what's it like? What do I wear?

I was thinking the same thing, that's kind of what I'd wear to a regular wedding.

I would think semi-formal would mean a more casual short dress and a dress shirt and slacks for the guy, no tie or jacket

formal is dark suits and either short or long dresses

black tie is tuxes and long dresses

That's what I was thinking!! I think there's a room in the back though for parties. I guess a black short cotton dress would be ok?

HA! YOU try to get him to wear a tie! he's ridiculous, HATES wearing them, hardly ever does. He has this beige suit that he's been waiting to wear, i think it'll be perfect.

For men, definitely suit and tie. As others have mentioned, tell him to wear the tie. He can always take the tie off later if people are more dressed down, but you never want to go to a function underdressed.

For a girl, any cocktail dress or party dress will work, including bright colors and more fashion-forward designs.

honestly I think a sun dress is good and have FH wear kahkis and a button down.

I definitely agree with this! I used to go to Irish Times alot and its definitely not fancy but for a wedding and short cocktail dress would be perfect!
