What does your FH consider an 'extra' in the wedding?

What does your FH consider an 'extra' in the wedding?

We were talking last night and FH thinks a videographer is an 'extra we can do without' and I was like, 'Everything else I've been flexible about in terms of adding on unnecessary extras, but a videographer is a DEFINITE, not an extra!!!'

Then he had the NERVE to suggest that we get video instead of photo  He says he was joking, but I suspect otherwise!!

Men!

FH does not think anything is an extra. He has this vision of this over the top wedding. Sometimes I think he is a woman. I think our only extra is the cigar roller he wants

I don't think FH thinks anything is an extra. If i say we need it, we need it. If I say we don't need it, we don't need it. And that's what he bases it on.

Some advice from a crashing 07er ...

Girls, get the video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The day will absolutely FLY by, and the video will be there to fill in the gaps in your memory. You may not watch it often, but its an awesome keepsake to have. I think most of the other Newlyweds will tell you the same ...

My DH thought having personalized matches were an extra we could have done without ... but they came out so cool, and we've gotten tons of compliments on the little details like that ... (i won )

my FH talso hinks that the video is extra (and thinks its cheezy), but i really think that it is so important. i can envision us watching it every anniversary ( ) our kids watching it later on.

we'll see who wins this one...

FH thinks Video is an extra only because we saw some real bad one's. But he knows that he cannot convince me otherwise not to get it.

He says flowers are an unnecessary expense, he says half the guests (men) won't care about it anyway..I keep trying to explain to him that the centerpieces have a big effect on the decor and overall feel of the room but he just doesn't get it...FH is such a loser

FH wants video (as do I) but I made the mistake of mentioning that I saw a videographer's website that offers videos in HD (for a LOT of $$$) and now he says we HAVE to have that!

i love that philosophy! FH and i are pretty much the same, its all about how you present the ideas that you want to do, make them feel like its something thats gonna benefit them!!! hehehe they're so predictable sometimes!

Men can be so stupid!
I can understand flowers and cake not being so expensive but photo and video! THEY are the only things you will keep forever!

A MUST!~

So true! The funny thing is that I am very nervous about our budget and told FH that I would really like to have video but only if we can afford it. HE is the one who responded by saying that it is a must so we can always look back on it and watch it every anniversary! GOTTA love him!

Be careful with HD because a lot of the videographers we met with said they are holding back on switching to HD because it requires soooo much light, it might take away from the ambiance of your room.

Oh and a girl I work with didn't get a video and she said it was the one thing she regretted. She ended up hating her photos and feels like now she has nothing to remember her day.

Our videographer is amazing! He is the one vendor we splurged on. We're not getting a wedding video, we're getting a wedding movie!

LOL whatever I want he considers a necessity. He says its my day and there can never be too much

Be careful with HD because you see EVERYTHING..... I mean every single imperfection....While some things might look much clearer in HD, I prefer not to see every single pore on my face. Maybe you should meet with the videographer and ask him if he can do touch ups in case you guys need it (esp. after dancing the night a way and having a few drinks)..

FH has been very good about being on the same pages with a lot of the stuff that I want.... he is definitely of the mindset that this is a once in a lifetime event and we want as much as we can get without going overboard hehehe

FH doesn't think anything is extra, but then again I haven't gotten into crazy wedding mode just yet. He's been very agreeable with letting me havewhatever I want for the wedding.....within reason of course!

I'm sure once we start doing our Bridal Registry he'll think I'm crazy lol he doesn't understand why we would need everyday dishes and fine china dishes for special occasions

What's the difference?? Sounds intriguing!
