Tan is my DH's last name therefore Tanbride -
people have sent me FM asking if I thought i was tan but that's not it, it's my married name

Thanks! Like I said, there are some screen names that drive me batty trying to figure out what they mean!!

trish is right...I've posted it a few times...and it is a long story - so I was kind of avoiding this thread...


there are few nicknames for Erica that I really liked (ricki, eri) - so one day I was watching a movie with my sister - who has a cool nickname IMO(Lena - for Marlena - and we have called her that for as long as I can remember) - the movie was 'Gleaming the Cube' with Christian Slater (although I have seen it on TV sometimes as 'My Brothers Keeper') his friend's nickname was 'Yabbo' and I started complaining that everyone has cool nicknames..except me...so my sister said - I'll call you 'Yabbo' - so from that day (I would say 1990 or so) she has been calling me Yabbo...and it was really only her and me that knew about the name...


fast forward to the AOL days...I tried to get Yabbo as a screen name - but someone had it already...so I spelled it forwards and backwards 'Yabbobbay' - but I had only signed up for a free month of AOL...so I lost the name and when I went to sign up again - they wouldn't let me have it back...so I dropped a B...and it stuck...

You know looking over this board the weirdest thing I realized. My husband works in computer security and they do this thing where they crack passwords.

Well one day I was asking him how they do it. He said its pretty easy. People use passwords that are significant to things in their life. He said we tell people dont' use birthdays and anniversaries but they still do. He said so usually they speak to people and then use the information just from general conversation to eventually guess people's password.


It just hit me b/c when I looked at this thread thats exactly how most of us chose our screen names.

Now, while my LIW user name is a huge no brainer, my password is actually very bizarre... I'd share it, but that would defeat the whole purpose...

Fi always calls me Pookie, or just plain Pook, so I am aka (or alias) aliasPook...

First and middle name. Really original. One of my friends from another message board where I have the same name (easy to remember), calls me Jann's Hari (as in 'hairy'). Fortunately for her, I do not have an overgrowth of hair anywhere, or else I'd have to take a great deal of offense.
