What don't people understand about........

Saving for a wedding and being unemployed!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, my friends all went to Maryland this weekend and asked me why I didn't go!!!!!!! Granted I am going away on a cruise next weekend, but that's only cause FH got me that as a present for my 30th birthday. I just wish people would understand.

My FH and I make a decent amount of money and we still be grief b/c we say we're saving money for a wedding and a house. I agree, some people don't get it.

Our friends give us grief too about never going out because we are trying to save for the wedding.. half the time they dont even call us any more... that makes me mad to b.c at least give us the opportunity to come out if we think we can afford it we will come but most of the time we really cant...

Same thing here. Whenever I say I can't, they get catty. I have a going out budget and I can' afford to do it 2 or 3 times a week anymore.

I hate when people do that. Then you have the friends that cant pay their bills but always have money to go out and complain how you never do anything anymore. Well yea I'm all grown up now and need to be responsible. I'm paying for my wedding, plus my bills, plus trying to save for a house, sorry if I can't go to karaoke every week.

luckily I dont get too much grief b/c my friends and I are all in study mood. They know I am saving for a house and I am the only one that has lived on my own for last 5 years so they don't give me grief. Plus they always have a place to come and hang!! I just have people here more--

i totally understand!!! its frustrating when people dont...and when they finally get in the position they will understand...and be like wow i get why she cant go out as much or do things...lol ughh i get that all the time

No one gets mean but I am always asked like outrageous things like a friend said just yesterday, 'let's go to Miami for my birthday' and her birthday is like next month. I know they just want to keep you incorporated in what is going on but the truth is I can't go on a just because trip that I haven't planned for I have budget.

I'm in the same boat..have been unemployed since Feb and my girlfriends are not understanding why I can't take a trip to Miami!!

FH has been unemployed on and off since Dec 08. It's been such a struggle saving for the wedding, paying our bills and maintaining somewhat of a social life. Luckily, alot of our friends are in the same boat financially speaking, so we have dinner nights at each couples house (we each bring a dish to share and a bottle of wine) and play some wii, or we'll have movie night. We had to start thinking creatively and out of the box in order to see our friends. Going out for dinner and bar hopping ain't cutting it anymore

I am in the same situation. I only go out now if it's a friend's birthday and I feel bad when I always turn things down because of money.

My friends are going to vegas this summer and FH and I couldn't really justify 1000 bucks between us right now between the wedding and the house renovation costs.

I am SOOO sad about it though and feel left out alot.



I'm just trying to tell myself it will be worth it in the end. We will have a beautiful house and a beautiful wedding and our life can go back to normal!!!
