Sometimes a list of hotels where rooms are blocked, sometimes nothing
The most recent save the date we got was jst a plain card with a border that said
Under the Chuppah, Tzipporah and Isaac will begin their journey.
Save the date!
September 4, 2005!
Bethesda, MD
then in smaller letters
Blocked Hotel, Bethesda, MD 410 555 1234

Basically it's a one sided and says
Parents names are proudly to annouce the engagement of their daughter (name) to (boy's name) the wedding will be held at (the place) inviation to follow.
OR PLEASE SAVE THE DATE (name) and (name) are proud to annouce their engagment. Hall, date Inviation to follow.
Of course it set up nicer.

Here is our save the date magnet!
We included our website on it so our OOT guests will have ithe nformation they need.
I did my save the dates too. I am all set to mail them by August but I am confused too. Do you just put them in an plain envelope and mail the magnet?? Do you have to put anything else inside when you mail them?? TIA great post cause I was wondering the same thing.

We sent the magnets with free formed note that said 'Hope you are able to celebrate with us!'

I am adding a letter (with the STD) with information about the hotel, airports, LIRR etc, with web adresses and phone numbers. I also gave distance ranges from the airports to the reception site etc. Sort of an all you need to know about traveling to long island type letter....I have a lot of out of twon guests.

This is kind of the idea I was thinking of. I think the more info the better, especially if they are traveling from out of town and have to get hotel room. Thanks
