Does anyone know yet? And if your hall is not providing for you, where will you get it? My hall is providing, but I don't like their baker!

If it were up to me, it'd be Betty Crocker.
No seriously though, I want it to be as simple as possible. Probably chocolate something. We haven't reached the point yet where we need to decide. FH and I are not fans of bakery cakes at all - the kinds with the fruit or other weird fillings in the middle.

No seriously though, I want it to be as simple as possible. Probably chocolate something. We haven't reached the point yet where we need to decide. FH and I are not fans of bakery cakes at all - the kinds with the fruit or other weird fillings in the middle.
OMG same here! you know the confetti cake and icing they sell? i'd be totally happy with that! but you have to make a big show i guess, the old people like to see it!

I am getting mine from my favorite bakery by my house, and we are having:
almond paste and chocolate ganache with yellow cake. covered in marzipan (instead of fondant yuck)
the idea was to mimic the flavors in a chocolate almond croissant...I kinda made it up myself but the end result was MMMMMMMMMMMMMgood!

I'm getting my carrot cake wedding cake from The Chocolate Duck. Their amazing baker Chrissy is going to make it. My cake came with my reception (and has gotten very good reviews actually) but I knew I wanted to have her make my cake. I told my hall I didn't need it and that I was bringing in my own baker. She makes the worlds best carrot cake, I can't wait! We use her for every baby shower, wedding shower and birthday cake!
