What has wedding planning thought you or revealed about yourself/FH?

I'll go first..wedding planning has shown be that I'm much more patient than I thought. I'm learning that compromising often allows me to get what I want, lol. I'm learning that FH will do anything to make our dream wedding a reality. He also has very strong opinions on how he envisions our day...which at times doesn't fit with mine, lol. Lastly, I find myself apologizing to FH a lot these days...I'm so used to focusing on 'me' that I sometimes overlook the 'us' in this process.

What have you discovered about you and your fh in this process?

I've learned that I'm a better planner than I thought! I hate planning parties and because of that, I've never really planned anything like this before. But since it's my wedding, I had to step up. I've also learned that everything happens for a reason and there is no need to freak out. Everything will fall into place.

There isn't much that wedding planning has revealed about my FH. He has been pretty easygoing about the whole process, which I already knew he was going to be. He's the calm one in our relationship. He also makes makes his opinions known, which I appreciate a lot since it's OUR wedding, not MY wedding.

Great question! I feel like I have learned that I stress out over the small things way to much. Planning our wedding has actually helped me to not panic about the little issues but to focus on the whole picture.

I have learned that FH is obsessed with the financial aspect of the wedding. I feel like at times he doesn't even care about us actually having a wedding but instead about all the money it costs. I always have to tell him how he hurts my feelings when I ask for opinions because instead of telling what he thinks about something he automatically turns it into 'I can't believe it costs that much.'

What has wedding planning thought you or revealed about yourself/FH?

I haven't really learned anything about either of us. Nothing is different really. Just we have a party in our future.

I was grateful enough to have a little experience planning something like a wedding with my family reunion. I was President on the committee and like a wedding, my committee and I had to scope out vendors, customized the dinner, appetizers and entrees for the 'Welcome Dinner', research hotels, do tastings of the food, provide entertainment and create an itinerary of fun activities, etc for a group of about 70+. So I knew first hand it would be a lot of work going in when it came to planning our wedding.

What I've learned as my FH and I are planning our wedding is, how much fun we are actually having and how cool it is to put our personal touches on things to make it a cohesive event. It's also making me and my FH even closer, which is great. Also, my FH made me realize at the end of the day, its OUR day and while we can't make everybody happy, at least WE will be happy on our special day. And at the end of the day, that's all that matters!

What has wedding planning thought you or revealed about yourself/FH?

I've learned that I am able to do things without waiting til the last minute. I'm usually a procrastinator and things never come out the way I want. But this is something I don't want to wait til the last minute for.

I've also learned that FH actually has opinions about some things (not a lot), and wants his opinion heard. It's very cute.

I learned that i want my own event planning company LOL
