What have you given up on concerning changing your husband to be...

Original post by cocoa

i know, i know, don't go into a marriage thinking you are going to change your man. i don't think i will change him, however, there are some habits that i would love for him to modify, to say it nicely...things like bringing glasses down from the bedroom and putting them in the dishwasher or oh, i don't know, putting dirty clothes in the hamper rather than on the floor!!! i guess i have given up on these battles. i love him and his habits, but they still drive me to insanity. like how he reads me the paper over breakfast (like i can't read!) i know that there will be a day that i will wish to god that he would read me the paper, but at the same time, he drives me crazy...but only in the most awesome wonderful fantastic way!

If i had to say anything.. I think it would be his attention span.

This my answer DEFINITELY. He really doesn't have any of the other habits, except that he just zones out on me.. even if I've only been talking for a few minutes, its like he SHUTS OFF THE LIGHT

the fact that he's sooo much more laid back than I am....and that leads to piles of both clean and dirty laundry, dishes and half full cups......

The fact that he always has 'time' to do things. He has no sense of urgency.

His morning routine used to really get to me (still does sometimes). He goes into his bathroom, lets the water run for like 5 minutes then turns on the shower. Then as he brushes his teeth, he opens the door and walks up and down the hallway - naked. Next he takes 15 minutes to pick his clothes out. Puts on his socks, boxers and undershirt then goes back into the bathroom with a magazine! By that time 45 minutes has already passed.

I could go on, but you get the picture. I have learned to let him wake up first and go shower when he is picking his clothes.

I gave up expecting a birthday present or anything thoughtful being done for me when I'm feeling down. He's hopeless in those areas as yesterday proved

although he can clean...he can't clean up after himself...there is always a remnant of him at the kitchen table or the bathroom...recently shaved hairs...papertowels/napkins, the open newspaper...towels on the floor...i love him so much...he's washing my car right now...but i will always be picking up after him...it's too funny...some days he is like my son!
