What have you sacrificed

What have you sacrificed

to help save for the wedding?

FI and I carpool because we both work in CT. Usually I drop him off first and take the car, because I'm a teacher and finish first. Today there was a huge accident on th Hutch and they closed the parkway, so I had him drop me off first so I wouldn't be late. Of course, he's on deadline and I've been waiting for an hour and a half for him already, and god only knows how much longer. It's days like these that I miss being a 2 car household, but when FI's lease was up, we decided to share my car to have extra $$$ to save for the wedding.

So, I've sacrificed my ability to go home at the end of the day (even when I have the car, I have to wait for him). What have you ladies sacrificed to help pay for the wedding?

We did the same thing! FH's lease was up in late July and we've been sharing my car since. So far so good. Luckily I can take the LIRR during the week and walk to the train station. My only concern is running our only car (my car) into the ground. We are saving a ton though. Also, FH and I moved in together about a year ago which saves money on separate apartments. I own mine, so FH is really just helping me pay down my mortgage.

I feel like if we can make it through all this, we will be golden in the future. Things can only get better!

I would have to say I sacrificed my ability to get up and do what I want in terms of shopping. Unfortunately i have had to learn to become more frugal. it *****.

We've sacrificed going out and going to concerts. With the exception of my first love - Pearl Jam - we won't be going to any concerts between now and the wedding. For someone (me) who would go to a concert every week or two, this is a huge sacrifice but it's saving tons of $$$.
More and more, our 'date nights' consist of a bottle of cheap wine, a movie rental (I have a rental card for Blockbuster with like a bazillion free rentals that someone gave me!) and some snacks.

Just going out in general. I'm allowed out twice a month (once a paycheck). Can't rent DVDs anymore, can't go shoe shopping, can't go and get that ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery down the block from my house. Is it June 2010 yet?

Nothing really sacrificed, maybe I am a little more conscious of the money I spend shopping.

I bring my lunch to work everyday now. Once my company moves further out on the island I will start car pooling with my sister to save on gas and so i don't go over my mileage on my car and have that expense too.

I have stopped shopping completely. I am in need or some new stuff but I feel Like i am doing this alone (FH is not a saver) It's not easy but i do what I have to.

I haven't stopped living completely but I am on a strict budget between saving and trying to pay off the CC bill I racked up.

Well I have stopped shopping as much and I've started taking my lunch to work. Now that we are at the 'less than a year to go' mark, we will be going out MUCH less. It ***** but the end result will be well worth the sacrifice.
